I'm not sure I agree with this, but it's worth a read.

His disjointed ruling is the very definition of judicial activism or reading something into the law that is not there. The court did itself and the country a disservice today.

The left-wing Slate comes to a similar conclusion (and is not happy):

Obama Wins the Battle, Roberts Wins the War

LOL! It’s like the Japanese just finishing off the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the American commander claiming the Japanese are badly crippled now because we exhausted their supply of 500 lb. bombs. It’s subtle, but if you think about it in the right way, yeah, you won, of course. Arguments by morons for morons.

From now on, he shall be known as “The Dread Pirate Roberts” - the man who hijacked the Constitution.

Statement: "John Roberts, evil genius"

Response: No.

Comment: " In declining states the leadership intuitively chooses the most harmful course of action."-A Great Historian 1888

There is no doubt America is in decline, economically, politically, culturally, demographically and morally.

Roberts and the rest of the court are part of the leadership of a declining state.

Therefore the court chose to uphold a harmful course of action.

Well then, I hope he suffers and dies in a subtle way where no one sees and no one cheers.

John O'Sullivan just wrote:

When Justice Roberts was appointed, I asked a distinguished jurist to predict his performance. He replied: “Roberts is a good man and an able lawyer, but he is also cautious and likely to keep his judgments very narrow. He will not go along with the Court liberals in legislating from the bench, but he will be very reluctant to reverse foolish laws or questionable judgments.”

We will see how big a genius he is a couple years from now, when the government mandates you install a solar cell system on your rooftop, from a short list of Obama approved suppliers, or pay a tax of $7,500.00.

Funny I said the same thing a little while ago to some friends, I think Roberts knew exactly what he was doing...

Where on earth does Roberts live? There can be no Independence Day celebration this year thanks to this black robed POS, but there sure as hell can be one humongous protest outside his home.

This article is total BS. Face it, Roberts acted as a coward. Washington D.C. is poison – It’s killing this country.

Rep Pete Stark was constitutionally wrong but right in reality when he said “the federal government can do anything it wants”.

These communist filth in our government need to be reputiated to the point that they will never stick their ugly faces out in public.

If those of us with right leanings regardless of degree, do not get on board and open our wallets and allot time to work to not only get conservatives, GOP, Tea Party people elected but just as important make sure the left loses each and every election by as big a margin as possible then we will have left these parasites with enough oxygen in their lungs to regenerate and return to “fundamentally change this country”

They must be destroyed at the ballot box. Help drive a stake dead center into the heart of liberalism.

For the first time since Ronald Reagan, I opened my wallet for the GOP and I opened it as wide as the law allowed. I challenge anyone with a love of the founders to do the same. Yeah, it might not be for your prime choice but right now in 2012 we only have 2 choices and sitting on the sidelines and hoping for change (sound familiar?) will leave us with the dark lord in charge and unencumbered by the polls to implement as many Marxist programs as possible.

Well on the one hand, federal powers under the Commerce Clause have been limited.

On the other hand, federal powers under the 16th Amendment have been expanded to make up the difference with plenty of room to spare.

I don’t see how this is a win for anyone but the fascist left. They’ll just stop using the Commerce Clause to justify their agenda and use the IRS instead.

I’m certainly not a constitutional law scholar - - as the MSM likes to refer to Zer0, who was a part time law lecturer for a coupl’a semesters whilst pimping other people’s money in the hood, but:

I think that Roberts has done a masterful job of taking SCOTUS out of the political world, and placing Obamacare back into the legistative play during an election year.
And by calling it a tax, undercutting all the Zer0 BS; and with the ability for the soverign states to opt out of this disaster of a law, he has set the stage for the legislative branch to fully relook at the RAT law cram-down.

He deserves our praise!

Listening to the Lars Larson show.

It is being pointed out on the show that if Obamacare is a tax, and tax bills have to start in the House, how did this bill start in the Senate and given the nod by SCOTUS?

I missed part of the discussion on the show.

Is there something I'm missing besides my tagline?

Evil genius? No. Just plain evil? Perhaps.

Regardless we should view this as a clear win. Because we got something even better than an overturning of the law; we got a open and tacit acknowledgement from the SCOTUS that they are unwilling to act in even the most egregrious examples of power grabbing. They are and will remain the rubberstamp. And they did this while everyone was watching.

So thank you CJ Arnold. Through this ruling you’ve made it obvious that the political game is rigged. The myth that the SCOTUS acts as a sort of court of last resort to protect our liberties died.

Yeah, the truth hurts. But it eventually will set you free.
