Since his genitals were still attached, I would say the father exercised extreme restraint.
Other states might want to emulate Texas. So yes, it is important to make it clear.
True...If the Father broke the law, the law is flawed and should be ignored...
I’d never convict the father. Saved the TX prison system money.
I must disagree. At the point where the pulled the subject off his daughter, he had no way of knowing what the subject would do from that point forward; whether the subject would run, or whether the subject might overpower him and continue the assault on his child. I put this in the same class as the cop who shot the face-eating monster in Florida, rather than baton, tase or physically confront someone whom he reasonably believed could not have been controlled and the assault ended with less than that level of force.

A number of them do. NH's law on similarly contains explicit provisions allowing the use of deadly force to stop a number of crimes in progress. I can't imagine that any state would hold that deadly force could not be used to stop a kidnapping and rape of a child in progress.
Next.
“Give the dad a medal.”
And castrate child molesters with blowtorches so it does not happen again.
The fact we have a term “repeat sex offender” speaks volumes about where we are as a nation.
Rot in hell, Flores!
Judges are elected in Texas. There will be no nullification of the jury’s acquittal.
Rot in hell, Flores!
I know many conservative folks (Latino, black, Asian, etc.) who are really afraid of the younger "thug" generation, not only because they could be victims as well but that they might be lumped into the "all (fill in the blanks) are rioting, looting, and robbing" category. Right now, the black youth issue is coming to the top. However, there are Latino, white, and asian gangs as well that are doing their stuff as well. They're only a bit wiser to keep a lower profile (right now).
Same with your observation. You have a lower stratification of the population that are morally bankrupt and have no compulsion about doing stuff that most of us cannot fathom. Theft, robbery, drug use/dealing, pimping/prostitution, rioting, and murder is not only acceptable, it's promoted by the very culture!
The socialist/communists have negated God, but expect people to obey the laws they pass like they are the gods. Trouble is, their example is far from godly, and when everyone is "special", then no one is. Do as I say, and not as I do no longer flies (ask zero).
We're nose-diving into a mountain, and the majority is about fed up with this mess. I have daughters. Had this happen to one of them, I would not feel remorse at this outcome. I applaud the father for doing his duty, and he should be framed as a hero, 'nuf said...
"The release stated that all of the physical evidence and witness statements in the case corroborated the father's statement."
OOPS!! Just like the Zimmerman case. Looks like Holder's gong to be prosecuting the dad for a "hate crime," and I just wish I were being sarcastic.
Just ask yourself what he’s have don to the little girl after he’d kidnapped her and raped her. A few weeks from now, if her dad hadn’t acted promptly, as he did, her dead body would have been found in some culvert and the perp would be safely in Mexico. Kudos to the sheriff.

You have to remember that this is Texas. It doesn’t matter what the law says, this is regarded as justifiable.
Jury foreman presents the findings of the jury:
“Guilty? No F***in’ way.!”
“[E]xcept that only an idiot prosecutor would ever bring such a case before a jury. Or a judge.”
Or Eric Holder.
Save all the hubbub for those who deserve it.
