It is a paraphrase of Edmund Burke much earlier quote:

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

But I like Einstein’s version better.

Think of a shotgun shell blast. Most of the manuvering is done before the HARM least the atmosphere.
The USAF has weapons programs that calculate the intercept point, and they have proven they can do this.
This was done several years before I retired in 2001.
Now think of the technology changes since I retired and the capabilities that have come since 2001.

Seems odd they would be messing with it after it was fueled...

Yes, that is the multi-stage ASM missile with Hydrazine fueled thrusters for steering after leaving the atmosphere. It is not a HARM missile.

I've read the Edmund Burke quote before.
But for today's society, and the lack of education of our youth, and the Communists teaching in the public school system, post #38 is better.

According to a Supervisor Of Flying that I spoke to that worked at Edwards AFB, during its development, it was built off a modified HARM.
At least that's what he told me.

I agree. Many youth today do not understand “evil” but have a concept of dangerous.

Cheers.

It still has to be “pre-flighted”, before it’s loaded onto the Centaur booster rocket and into the payload fairing.

It would take a lot of modifications.

The HARM is 13.7 feet long and weighs 800 lbs. It has steering “fins” midway along the body.

The ASAT missile was nearly 18 feet in length and weighed 2700 pounds. It had a Boeing Short-Range Attack Missile first-stage motor, a Ling-Temco-Vought Corporation (LTV) Altair III second-stage motor, and an LTV miniature homing vehicle.

Hey, all I know is what I was told, while working as a tower air traffic control watch supervisor at Osan AB Republic of Korea in 1988, from a SOF that came from Edwards.

Riiiight. Smith swore to Orly that the document was genuine, but when it came time to make such a declaration to a court, Smith became a prevaricator, claiming Orly made illegal demands of him so he had to withdraw from swearing to the court.

-—Does the number 37 have some significance?-——

Militarily, I dunno.

But on a completely unrelated note, both numbers represent perfection. Three, because of the Trinity, and seven because of the seven days of creation. Together they represent heaven and earth.

These also happen to be most people’s favorite numbers. I know from asking people. Of course, this could be due to our Christian heritage, so ask a non-Christian when you have the opportunity.

A former boss named his company “37 Design Group” because “they’re everyone’s favorite numbers.” And he was a secular kind of guy.

"Mission of highly classified robotic plane..."

Lol. Apparently "highly classified" in the same sense that the US Secret Service is the best-known secret organization in the world.

Wrong speculation ... My experience with the military would lead me to believe they were working around HYDRAZINE which is deadly poisonous if inhaled, and it is colorless and odorless.

Pure nitrogen for fuel system purging can be just as deadly, suffocating you without you even noticing, at least until you pass out.

“I absolutely and completely believe that Obama has been kept out of the informative assets briefing, where a new President elect is briefed on exactly what assets both public and under cover is going on.

Even four years after the election the doofus elect still has no clue what goes on outside the Whitehouse. And I sincerely hope that when his mulatto backside hits the pavement that he is informed that he was never considered to be a satisfactory security risk, something about a lack of background data.”

____

I agree completely, I wouldn't trust the Kenyon Punk with the keys to the executive bathroom.
