Oh, forgot, for the cats we buy *Science Diet* from the vet and so far no problems.

Chinese products are a joke. It’s sometimes hard to find the origin of products. It’s hidden and our government allows it.

I put a good portion of the blame on Nestle Purina.
Bingo. I thought I was keeping my dog safe by not buying her treats from the dollar store. But here the established name-brand product is just as bad.

Make it 901. We had to have our papillon put down after months of agonizing inability to keep anything down after consuming a few of those Doggie Death Chicken Jerky Treats.

I always liked Purina but that really scared me.

Iams. You know, the stuff tainted in Canada? *sigh*
I'd feed my cats people food but they don't eat it. They were feral and table scraps have no appeal for them. My old guys favorite food is mouse and rabbit.

A few years ago there was a tainted food scare and I think Science Diet was one of the brands. So was what I use, Iams. What are you going to feed them? Most brands have had problems in the last 5 years.

I thought there was a law coming/came? into effect where it was mandated that the origin of the product had to be on it. I see all this distributed by stuff still so no telling where it comes from. Maybe I was wrong about the law.

I have a friend who has rescued greyhounds. She only feeds them home cooked fresh meats, rice and vegetables. One of her doggies had cancer and had a leg removed. He lived 3 more years and her vet said it was because she fed him “clean” food.

While we may be over regulated, China has no meaningful regulations. Nothing from China should be ingested by any living creature.
China, with no morals whatsoever, will gladly sell us anything, but without any safety regulations. I am sure they will sell us thousands of tainted products until they kill us off. Someday, before it is too late, even liberals will have to realize not all cultures are equal and in fact some are downright dangerous to civilization. Is-slime and China fall into that category.

You weren’t wrong. I certainly remember that and I believe it was after the last big pet food scare where companies were buying tainted products from China. I wondered why it’s doesn’t seem to be in effect too.

Our vet, who is also a relative, swears by Science Diet.
I think their problem, a while back, was with their wet food.
We only buy the dry, like I said, so far no problems.
I guess considering all the problems that occur with even human food, it's a crap
shoot all the way around.
You just wind up doing the best you can and hope for the best, government
protection on this and every issue is just varying degrees of next to worthless.

I fed my dog some china jerky and she nearly died.. It took 2 thousand dollars to save her. The vet. and I called the FDA.... They were pissed that we called them.

I have a brother that drives semi's. He had to pick up a load of pickles. They gave him a tour. He no longer will touch pickles.

It is very doubtful that <Heavy Sarcasm Open Quote>American</Heavy Sarcasm Close Quote> Congress would ever pass any meaningful COOL (Country Of Origin Legislation).
(BTW, does anyone happen to know if the FDA is still exempting Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturers from insections uh, inspections?)
