This is what we call a “desperate ploy.” Used to be that DC (a Time-Warner company) thought it was a foregone conclusion that they’d eventually buy out their competition at Marvel. In one fell swoop, they would own a virtual monopoly on the comic book market.
All they had to do was bide their time and produce at least one “stunt” book a year (Superman’s dead, Superman’s alive, supporting character Sue Digby raped and murdered) that outsold Marvel for their corporate bosses, coast along with their outdated (majority of 1930’s to 1960’s vintage) characters, focus on publishing art-house trash under their Vertigo label. (try, just try even reading through descriptions of any Vertigo title on Amazon) twiddle their thumbs and wait for the eventual Marvel buyout.
Except that it never happened. With the Disney buyout of Marvel, DC has been pulling more “stunts” like this “which character is gay?” to artificially boost sales. When their recent retail toy line was dropped by Mattel due to low sales, they even tried to put a positive spin on it “Now, we’re doing our own exclusive, limited edition line of toys”. Sadly, no surprise here, folks.

I mean, look; her creator had an interest in Domination/submission and bondage, for heaven’s sake. And he admitted it. When you think about it, WW is kinda kinky. Has the Lasso of Truth to tie people up, comes from an island made up of only women........hmmm.
Like I said on another thread on the topic, I could be wrong, and maybe WW is just a dominatrix, but I still think there’s a strong lesbian undercurrent to her character.
You honestly think this matters to that kid? There’s lots of sports and media stars that are gay, but it seems that the only people this seems to bother, are the parents.

Remember when they changed 'truth, justice, and the American way' to 'truth, justice, and all that other stuff' in 'Superman Returns'. That honked off a LOT of people, and the movie didn't do as well as expected at the box office. Of course, that movie just reeked of sodomite (Singer, Spacey, Routh).

Message to readers? DC and Marvel aren't comfortable with their characters being involved in 'traditional marriage', but it's all hands on deck for the sodomite lifestyle.
