“that’s pretty much just one person spamming old anti-Romney stories people have already read or otherwise don’t care about. It’s like a daily temper tantrum resulting in useless dated material being sprayed out on to the forums.”
Yeah, it degrades the utility of the site to have old dated respammed stuff crowding out real stories.
Well the 'only way' that can be done is as determined already, by Constitutional amendment. Congress or the states can initiate that.... then the amendment has to be ratified by a fixed number of states before it takes effect... it can also be changed at a "Constitutional Convention,"... but none have been done that way since the 1700s.
“I don’t really support Ron Paul”
Then don’t shill for him. The primary is over. Romney will be the nominee. Ron Paul is only making noise and is irrelevent, except for how he has destroyed the ability for consensus conservatives to win (see my other post on this).
Well they do bash Jim and FR relentlessly on that site ....yet you then come into Jim’s House, thinking you should be received as a guest, and sit at his table??? Why not just go to a site who doesn’t bash your friend here?
I don’t insult anyone. Well, not often - I can get a mite riled up at times, not being the most even tempered person in the universe. Those times I normally hit abuse on my own posts and ask they be removed, then apologise via freepmail to whoever it was.
Any mod can confirm that. So can anyone I have insulted in the past (probably three or four people).
I am happy to come in, sit on Jim’s porch and shoot the breeze with like minded people. Fetch along the odd 6 pack too, or start discussions (sometimes provocatively - ask DJ or wagglebee about my abortion thread sometime).
I simply got saddened then irritated by what, to me, seemed like censorship of free speech via zotting.
I don’t make the mistake of assuming that free speech means you can say what you like and damn about the feelings of others. Posted about that here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2876381/posts?page=535#535 or see the last line on my profile page. But I do believe that everyone has the right to be heard even if - or especially if - they see things differently from you.
How else do you continue to learn and grow?
Yeah; right. Whatever!
“If public schools still taught kids to read, it might be possible to have supplemental books that parents could furnish to their kids, books which would fill in the holes left by lie-berals in school texts.”
Yes, and I encourage any parents who have no choice about putting their kids in public school to spend an hour debriefing them every day.
It may well be the best part of both your days. Make it fun and loving. You have more influence over your children than a truckload of commie teachers. Utilize it!
Most conservatives are Republican.
Most Republicans are conservatives.
MEOW much?
Read all my other 13 posts on this and I hope you'll understand I wasn't being a shill. You seem to be very angry.
I’m not angry at all, but see #1146.
people keep wondering why conservatives seem hapless in the presidential primaries, and we need to realize the destructive influence Ron Paul has had in the dynamic.
JMHO.
One could make the argument that Mitt's current platform is far more conservative than Obama and that it's worth taking a long-shot chance on Mitt.
That said...
Mitt is a known liar.
In my view Mitt's supposed "conversion" on abortion (and other issues) is a little too late in life for me to believe.
It's still May. Why support Mitt now when his stinky feet need to be held to the fire, every minute of every day?
At this point in time I will reserve judgement on what I will do in November.
Since Dole and Clinton.
The GOP never wins when they run a liberal or moderate. But they keep trying. And folks keep buying the fear thing.
No arguments from me on that statement although I question just how much appetite for discomfort our fellow citizens have. Most people are going to have to tighten their belts including those on social security if we are going to save ourselves.
I am not ashamed to admit that I am very afraid of what is coming. I have three little reasons - ages 3, 5, and 6. I wonder what life will be like for them. Most American’s seem more concerned about their own comfort than future generations.
“It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.” - Thomas Jefferson
Wise words indeed. Our children will pay the debts with austerity and blood if we don’t address the problems we voted for.
A more complete way to look at it is that by casting your vote for someone other than Obama OR Romney in the General, neutral between those two, you are using your vote to weaken either liberal victory.
“If Obama wins it will be 100% Communist, 100% of the time, with him and his appointees (cabinet posts, czars, judges). The destructive regime wont be weakened in the slightest by a symbolic protest vote.”
CORRECT!
Obama’s 2nd term will be his most dangerous one.
“Either he’s a left winger or he’s an opportunist. “
The odds of a Mormon venture capitalist businessman with 5 kids and a normal stay-at-home wife being a leftist? ZERO.
100% opportunist.
Romney will be a weathervane Republican, which beats Marxist Obama hands down.
I called them tonight to warn them of the storm that veered south of us.
We're all in the same boat, however. And my crew is ready for what comes.
I personally haven't had running hot water since late 2008.
Not bad during the summer, when the water here is bath temp. But it's... refreshing.... in the winter.

I’m voting Romney and hoping he wins.
Because no matter how much he will disappoint me starting on January 20, 2013, I still get to taste (figuratively) the sweet tears of unfathomable sadness shed by Obama, Mooch, and all their idiot supporter for a two and a half glorious months.
I’ll at least have that.
Thanks for the laugh. I will enjoy watching that!
“So Obama takes the blame, we teach the GOP a lesson about acceptable nominations, and a crack at a conservative in 2016 to rebuild the economy. Triple play.”
But this puts us in the bizarre position of hoping Obama wins. . .
I’m not talking about changing the Constitution. I am talking about the nation changing...congress, the executive, the SCOTUS so that they actually follow the Constitution
To do that involves we the people electing the right people to office who will do so and keep their oath to do so.
We took a good step in that direction in 2010 during the mid terms with the Tea Party.
We just have to get people who will pass laws, sign laws, and interpret lawas according to the Constitution as it exists.
That is my meaning.
