Is anyone else bothered by the presence of the word "access" in this discussion?
One can have access to a commodity if it is available, regardless as to whether it is free or it costs money. The implication with the use of this word is that, unless it is "free", the commodity will not be available, and this is a complete lie. Those who could afford it have always had "access", yet the commodities and services would be free to them too.
Those who push free contraceptives and abortifacients have never advocated means testing to qualify for the handout, so the word "access" has no place in the discussion.
Sheesh.
