Romney’s got six months to earn whatever conservative support he can.

Most significantly, he can fundraise for and support Tea Party/conservative candidates for the House (and for the Senate... if there are any).

The ‘anybody but Obama’ meme is very premature.

You’re back?

Well, regardless, If you can’t grasp a clearly made point, then I’ll go about mine and you go about yours.

I may be wrong. If I am, I'd like to hear someone make the case, rather than just tell me FU!!, and think that's a persuasive argument.

OK, here it is. If you vote for Romney then you are one of the ones bringing us RINO candidates from the GOP. They take your vote as approval no matter what you think about the candidate when you pull the lever.

Well, since I have a new rule, that I no longer can agree to disagree, you will simply need to change to my point of view.

I like it! On a similar note, never shy away from giving someone the correct opinion they should hold ;)

But don’t get me wrong. It’s not just me and my keyboard. It’s the FReepers. FR would be nothing but a personal blog if it weren’t for the early FReepers getting involved in 97, 98, 99, and through the impeachment and then the attempted Gore coup d’etat. And it just kept going from there. We seem to have these problems every four years when for whatever the reason the RINOs start pushing for their favorite statist RudyMcRomney. Takes awhile till we settle down and get on with the hard work of resisting tyranny. But this time is a little different. I find it impossible to even think about supporting a filthy abortionist/homosexualist/statist who uses his money and alliance with the high priests of the GOP-e to attack our conservative tea party candidates and drive them out. And I know all the while he’s lying about his 11th hour conversion and will revert right back to statism immediately after he buys the nomination if not before. He’s already let the cat out of the bag through Pam Bondi what HE has planned for us in the way of statist/socialist government imposed compulsory health insurance at the state level, ie, tyranny. If we get RomneyCare or equivalent installed in the majority of states, we’ll never be able to root it out and it’ll be a giant step towards totalitarianism. No thank you. No Romney!!

Listen to Reagan on RomneyCare:

God bless the FReepers and ALL of our keyboards!!

Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God!

We are the resistance!!

John Galt signed on as a junior engineer with the Twentieth Century Motor Company in Starnesville, Wisconsin. There he conceived the idea that he could extract static electricity from the atmosphere and use it as an almost limitless source of energy. In 2007 he actually completed a prototypical electrostatic motor and prepared to demonstrate it to his employer, Gerald "Jed" Starnes. His boss, William Hastings, would later provide the temporal clue to Dagny Taggart that Galt was twenty-six years old when he built his prototype.

Then disaster struck. Gerald Starnes died, and his three children—two brothers, Gerald Jr. and Eric, and their sister Ivy—proposed a radical change in management for the factory. Under this system, people would work according to their ability, but be paid according to their needs.

The employees actually voted in favor of this plan, with no conception of what it would mean. This vote took place in the main assembly bay of the factory. After this vote, Gerald Starnes, Jr. stood up to announce the results. According to the skilled lathe-operator and shop foreman who witnessed it, Mr. Starnes said the following: "This is a great moment in the history of our country! Remember that none of you may leave this place, for you are all bound here by the moral code which we all accept!"

"I don't," said John Galt, who quietly stood up in his place. Every eye sank when it beheld him, because "he stood like a man who knows that he is right."

Galt went on, "I will put an end to this once and for all." Then he turned to walk out of the bay.

Gerald Starnes called after him, "How?"

Galt turned and said, "I will stop the motor of the world."

To understand what John Galt meant by that provocative statement, one needs to understand what is the motor of the world. Ayn Rand's point was that man's mind is the motor of the world—and if you punish a man for using his mind, then sooner or later the mind will refuse to move the world. Thus John Galt proposed not only to quit the factory (which he did, after deliberately wrecking his prototype and removing most of his notes, leaving only enough notes to remind people of what might have been) but also to quit a system that, even beyond one factory with three misguided heirs running it, rewarded failure and punished success.

I'm trying to figure how that theory pans out; I certainly understand voting based on principle only, but I can't see how that's gonna make a damn bit of difference to the party at large. Romney won tons of votes in the primaries from people who identfied themselves as Tea Party members - they had the choice between the candidates and still picked Romney (I voted for Santorum).

How is voting third party on the Presidential line going to identify us as conservatives angry enough at the GOP to vote for someone else? Won't the media, etc., just assume Obama had more voters show up?

Very true. Hindsight being 2020, when we voted for McCain because of Palin (those who did) we ended up sealing our fate. We were terrified of what Obama would do, so ve voted to stop that.

And because of our votes, we basically told the GOP that they could continue running RINO/libs and we’d play along of the price was right. Had McCain lost in a landslide, this election ‘could’ have resulted in a truly conservative candidate. At the vary least, a more conservative one than McCain.

I mean just look at the track record. The GOP faught tooth and nail to stop Ronaldus Magnus and has not run a truly conservative candidate since. Ans since bush the liberalism in the GOP has escalated by orders of magnitude...because we keep voting for that.

So lets say Romney pulls it off. Imagine what the GOP will run next. Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it.

I don't expect you to or care if you do believe what I believe but the character of an act is formed by its intention. Not the odds of it succeeding, not its result and not its hoped for result. Just pure intention.

If you choose to die, or participate by acquiescence in your death, that is suicide. If you choose to fight, regardless of how hopeless the odds are, your are not committing suicide you are fighting for life. The intention you make and act on is to either choose life or choose death.

You can believe what you want to about whether there are spiritual consequences to that choice but if you ever thought your choices were about deciding the outcome of events then you are deluding yourself. No man knows the course of the future. There are always other conditions other than the ones you impose on a situation.

The total votes in each party are always tallied and analyzed against how many people were eligible to vote, how many voted before and polls are taken ad-nauseum about who you did or didn’t vote for and why. They do that in every precinct in the country. The press may not publish and comment on all those results but the GOPe will certainly get them and pore over them to see what happened.

"If you vote for Romney then you are one of the ones bringing us RINO candidates from the GOP"

I didn't bring him. I would never have brought him. And I will not be "one of the ones" bringing him. How about we purge the GOP? This has been in the making for a long time. Even Santorum was not as conservative as I would have liked. Look at the choices we have now. It wasn't that long ago that Newt was attacking capitalism and sounding just like Obama. And Romney? Pleeeeaaase! He might as well say he's sorry for being rich and he won't let it happen again.

We got here by excusing the GOP and chalking it up to them being naive. They aren't. It's deliberate. Will we have more time to fix it under Obama or the RINO?

How do you purge it when you give them the only thing they want? Your vote. A vote for Romney will be taken as approval of Romney. Period!
