Read that quote of Romney's and ask yourself how wide a lawyer could stretch those words.
Disagree, CNN.
Romney’s support is very low, it’s purely the result of his running against opponents who could not match his resources, and he’ll not have anything like that advantage against Obama. Since he offers no choice against Obama, Obama will win this one.
The Republican party represents the mushy middle. The independents that political pundits think are in the middle are in reality on the right, unrepresented by anyone, and becoming more angry every day.
If the Grand Old Party does not get its butt back where it belongs the Tea Party will rip it asunder ending its viability in politics.
The two wings of the Government Party offer you the choice of a disorganized and self indulgent megalomaniac leftwing progressive,Obama, or the focused and self disciplined megalomaniac leftwing progressive,Romney. The organized one -will- accomplish more harm if elected.
As of this moment, we angry independent conservatives have no home.
The Libertarian Party carries its "personal freedom" flag all the way to pro-choice even though it involves someone else's life.
The CP is probably the best choice, but they have no known names other than Tom Tancredo to lead their fight into the fall. They need to bag a Gingrich, a Santorum, or a Palin, or even a Hunter or a North, but I don't see the possibility of any of that.
Please write your old Marine buddy, Ollie North, and ask him to run for the presidency as a 3rd candidate. :>)
But hey! Help him win a plurality of the conservative vote when the liberals split between the Republican and the Democrat! (He recently posted this as a possible outcome of his "entry" into the presidential race.)
Didn't you EternalMagalomania?
Megalomania
Your claims are simply untrue, troll.
Why stop there?
Lets call on that lousy President of ours, Obama, to drop out!
Romney may also KNOW that a whole bunch of conservatives will not vote for him either. I imagine very few people here at FR are planning to do so.
If he can't make up the difference with independent and minority voters, then Obama will be elected to a second term in office, and we can hold a wake for the United States of America and We the People thereof.
It's been a while since we've spoken, dear brother in Christ. (I haven't been able to spend much time here recently, owing to family issues.) But I do recall we had an exchange on the theme, "the perfect is the enemy of the good." And you answered as if this were a problem of the relative "goodness" or "badness" of particular persons.
But what I was speaking of was the public good. It seems to me that sometimes, the public good requires us to make a choice of the lesser of two evils. And not to choose the lesser evil is to make an effective positive choice of the greater evil....
No matter how "bad" a man you think Romney is, he is an infinitely better man than Obama. For one thing, he is not a pathological liar with an ideological agenda that calls for the destruction of the America we know and love. Obama is trashing our rule of law, systematically looting the American people, canceling our inalienable rights of life, liberty, and property.
A good way for Obama to be reelected is for "good men to do nothing" to oppose him. The most effective way to oppose him, it seems to me, is to vote for his opponent.
Just some thoughts, dear brother in Christ. BTW, given the mortal ideological split in the GOP, I fully expect that Obama will eke out another term in November.
Which is the most depressing thought I can imagine.
Oh well....
One thing about it, if enough hold their noses and vote for Romney they won't be expecting much from him either and so it'll be easier for him to meet the bar. But they must vote to get the actual conservatives in the legislative offices.
