I remember one local television station that used to roll that poem with flight footage from F-16 before playing the Star Spangled Banner when signing on in the morning. Bet that never happens any more. But it blew me away the first time I saw it, because it is just. so. beautiful.

You are right, and if he had anything to do with writing it it would have been an apology for everything the United States did that had anything to do with Vietnam.
Seems hardly any of the folks who were supposed to be the beneficiaries of the celebration even knew about it. Once again, this administration manages to screw up an opportunity to do the right thing.
