When did congress pass the resolution/law to remove that phrase from our coins?

I don't have as much problem with where the words are located as I do with WHY IS THERE A COIN FOR THEM TO BE LOCATED ON AT ALL!!
How many times do we have to go through this? How many million of the previous dollar coins are sitting around in government wharehouses?
People DON'T WANT a dollar coin. Why can't those fools in Washington get it through their thick heads.

In 2007 some were minted without the motto by mistake and were released into the wild. I believe, if this is one of those, you might have a winner. If newer, ignore this message.

Personally I think that the next step will be an American coin minted with the words: “There is no god but Allah....” in Arabic.
And our congresscritters will bow reverently towards the White Hut.

Old news. All the presidential coins have “In God We Trust” on the side of the coin.
In the case of the Washington coins, there was a batch that made it into circulation without the motto on the side. I've heard it had something to do with the way the coins fed thru the mint press.
As a coin collector, I've seen where this coin “without the motto” will sell anywhere from $150 to $200 depending on the condition, so if you have one (missing the motto), either put it someplace safe OR take it to a coin store and see what they offer you (or better yet, if your coin store is like mine, they have a board where you can list it, as you will get a better sale price from other collectors than at the store).

Vice President Biden Announces U.S. will Halt Production of Excess Dollar Coins
.....As part of the Obama Administrations Campaign to Cut Waste, Vice President Biden today announced the U.S. Mint would suspend the production of Presidential dollar coins for circulation. Today, nearly 1.4 billion surplus dollar coins are sitting in Federal Reserve vaults due to lack of demand for the coins.

nah. There have been many coins minted without it.

The new dollar coin does not have the inscription In God We Trust ...
In one sense, you're wrong ... it's found all over the top side.
In another sense, you're right ... turns out the specie is a completely useless blank ... a slug, if you will ... just like the worthless ass depicted on its face!
