Report: Limbaugh advertiser boycott orchestrated by Media Matters
Examiner.com
The so-called mainstream media - known here as the “Democrat-media complex” - wants everyone to think the secondary boycott by advertisers against Rush Limbaugh is in response to the public’s outrage over his remarks about Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown student who told Congressional Democrats coeds are going broke buying contraception.
But a post at Legal Insurrection says that isn’t the case.
“In fact,” William A. Jacobsen wrote Thursday, “the secondary boycott was initiated by and driven by Media Matters, which had a Stop Limbaugh campaign on the shelf waiting to be used, and was executed by Angelo Carusone, Director of Online Strategy for Media Matters.”
Jacobsen adds that before joining Media Matters in 2010, Carusone was behind efforts against talk show host Glenn Beck and is “behind Stop Fox News and Stop Limbaugh efforts.”
“So, why just blame Rush? He’s playing the same game that all the others are”
You are correct. Absolutely. I just thought Rush was the BIG DOG. My mistake.
Again. I like the guy. Continued success with his business. I just have a much clearer ides of what his business is.

SPEAKING OF LIES....
“How do you know that? Snerdly tell you?”
Are you saying his policy has changed? If so that would be wonderful.
I would try to get on and I would ping a whole bunch of people who would also like to speak about this topic.
Is this true? Has something changed?
Media Matters is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization
Section 501(c)(3) organizations are subject to limits or absolute prohibitions on engaging in political activities and risk loss of status as tax exempt status if violated.
Organizations described in section 501(c)(3) are prohibited from conducting political campaign activities to intervene in elections to public office.
Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.
As part of its examination program, the IRS also monitors whether organizations are complying with the prohibition.

If Media Matters qualifies for 501(c)(3) status so does FreeRepublic!
Ok, for someone who says they listen how do you not know how it works.
You call Limbaugh M-Th to talk about what he is interested in on Friday you call and talk about what interests you, even if he is not interested.
Snerdly is the call screener, he lets you through, you get to talk about it.
As far as I know that is how it’s always worked.
Call on Friday and if you get through the busy signal and Snerdly you can talk about whatever your issue is.
I believe Glenn did address it. Said somethig to the effect of-—we have real, important issues, and this is a distraction on the b.c. thing....
Of course not, like it or not, the reality is that that topic still borders on "kookdom" and no major talk show host with the audience of Rush or the others is going to get embroiled in that "conspiracy" for fear of losing their credibility and being labled "kooks" themselves.
If and when there is finally indisputable evidence of the ONE being born in Kenya, then it will likely be a major topic of conversation.........
Get used to it.......
Actually I have..........now I defer to my prior post to you.
For some reason svcw seems to think that Rush would take calls from:
“eligibility/constitutional/NBC/anti-fraud/anti-forgery/anti-usurpation of POTUS/conservatives”
Otherwise know as “birthers.”
Tomorrow is Friday.
Oh, good lord. You really need to get over yourself.
Call the show and try and get on - it is that simple.
“Rush or the others is going to get embroiled in that “conspiracy” for fear of losing their credibility and being labled “kooks” themselves.”
Leading from behind. Ok. Fine. He’s relegated to entertainer status. No problem.
Behind who?
“Behind who?”
You are right he is not a leader. I think he is actually said as much himself. He’s an entertainer.
Now on to REALLY important things. Sluts, Sleep Train, Carbonite, and Rush.
Meh.
Whats that all about?
We have a "supposed" conservative media here.
I'm a little tired of all the excuses that prevent them from taking this issue head-on. Especially now since they can hide behind Sheriff Joe's skirt. This a verifiable news event.
Several posters here were implying that one only needed to contact Rush either through e-mail or calling his show on "Open Fridays" and he would allow the topic to be discussed. Your article is a great summary of the issue and thought you would be interested.
Of course, I know that Rush won't take calls on the topic.
I meant Pravda. I’ve yet to have a post yet that was grammatically correct and without misspellings so why start now. : )
All of you need to take a close, thoughtful look at the revelations of investigator, Doug Hagmann, who has documented major news and talk show personalities and companies who have been threatened by Soros-funded operatives if they address the "elig" issue.
Similar threats have, apparently, been made to government officials, judges, et al...
A good place to start learning why Øbozo eligibility is taboo in the media is with
"Who Is Behind Quashing the Birth Certificate Issue?" at Canada Free Press. Here's an excerpt:
NOW WE KNOW WHY
In an explosive interview by Dr. Laurie Roth on her syndicated West Coast radio show on August 7th, Douglas Hagmanna respected journalist, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network and longtime private investigator, and Judi McLeod, a prolific journalist and the managing editor of Canada Free Pressthe reason for the media blackout about the birth-certificate issue was nothing less than organized Mafia-like dire threats to members of the media issued not only from the heads of major TV and radio stations but also from Federal Communication Commission officials!
According to Hagmann and McLeod, who conducted a nine-month investigation and documented their findings scrupulously, after Obama was elected but before he was inaugurated:
- A major TV talk-show host reported that he was ordered not to raise the birth certificate issue or risk losing his job.
- FCC officials threatened to yank broadcasting licenses, break up conglomerates, and make the enactment of the Fairness Doctrine look mild in comparison to other consequences.
- In at least one corporate TV headquarters, memos were circulated to all on-air employees not to mention the birth certificate issue, as well as other specific subjects like Obamas Illinois lawyers license, his college records, etc., under both implied and explicit threats.
The entire article is worth reading.
As to the impact on one specific host, check out

There is lots more information on why "nobody will touch the Øbozo eligibility issue", but the above is a start...
~~~~~~~~~~
At least, you can see for yourselves that Rush's avoidance of the issue is real -- and probably not by choice...
Fine. They should all band together and come forward as a group. One giant megaphone.
Four years later. I don’t have much sympathy for the BIG NAMES here.
I’m burnt out on that excuse.
