Whoops, yeah thanks - Bay of Pigs.
Just had to get my anti-JFK rant in.
Although if he had provided air cover at the Bay of Pigs there might never have been a Cuban missile crisis.
If Israel acts as it must, there is a fair chance that the US will enter the fight by ordering the Israeli planes back to base and/or shooting them down.
