My fears seem fake?
Do you know how that sounds coming from someone who is pushing the idea that my church will takeover of the Government?
Frankly, it’s things like the perpetuation of this Salon article that make some uneducated Mormons buy into the culture of the WHP, and it’s even worse for more non-Mormons who believe it, when they state that the Church leaders teach it.
If the conservative movement believes that the MSM lies to us on purpose, but then argues that the end justifies the means, when pushing a lefty article like this, then we are toast. RIght is right and wrong is wrong.
Please Keep the issues above grade.

The people who are purported to have heard/recorded the prophecy are the ones who have been “lambasted, discredited, torn to shreds, denounced, etc.”.
I’ve seen the word “alleged” used quite often when it comes to referring to the prophecy coming from JS.
What is curious to me though is this; if the prophecy was/is of no consequence, that the church has disavowed it, why then, did so many subsequent presidents(so-called prophets) reference the prophecy?

LOL, Mormons and the straying from the truth to advance the cult.
I don’t think the goofy cult “will takeover the Government”, but articles like this go a long way to show what Mormons believe, and what many have believed for 170 years and one of the reasons why they follow Romney so devotedly.
Anyone looking at your posting history can see your own devotion to Bishop Romney and his Presidential aspirations.

(Romney is unquestionably the weakest party front-runner in contemporary political history.)

There is no story there, but the Bishop Romney story has not yet started, and it is deep and dark.
You can be sure that it's being written as we speak. The MSM is drooling over the prospect of a Romney nomination.

I'd say its a wash. The most Mormon bashing I have seen is right here on FR.
Me pointing out that Mormons consider the elected leader of their church to be a prophet of God is not Mormon bashing.
And yes, things like Romney viewing the head of his church as a prophet of God are completely legitimate issues to bring up, because it could affect his decision making, if God forbid he somehow wiggles his way into the White House.

Im not saying they wouldnt throw Reid under the bus, which they undoubtedly will, but they will look really bad and two faced doing it.
Who is going to point out that they are hypocrites about Reid? You think the MSM is going to say "oh by the way, we are being hypocritical for bringing up all of the questionable aspects of Romney's religion while ignoring Harry Reid". Hell no, they are going to laugh on their way to Obama's re-election.

Im afraid of what the MSM will throw on their newscasts if Romney is the nominee.
I can tell you one thing that showed up in the news last week - the Mormons are still trying to baptize Jewish Holocaust victims. This time, it's Simon Wiesenthal's parents and apparently Anne Frank.
A Romney nomination will see the MSM scouring all over the place to find out how many Jewish Holocaust victims were baptized by the Mormons long after the Mormons said they would stop.
And it's not just Jews who don't like the Mormons trying to take their religion away from their dead or showing a total disrepect for their religion by these proxy-baptisms, Catholics aren't too fond of it either.
And the Mormons keep on claiming that they had stopped the practice in regards to Jewish Holocaust victims, but as a Jewish Rabbi said, the only way the Mormons will ever stop baptizing dead Jews is if they stop with the posthumous baptisms.
