Without air supremacy for cover, or at least air superiority, the tank is not much more than a fifty ton infantryman--as the Iraqis discovered to their dismay. Except plinking tanks and other armored vehicles with laser guided bombs is easier than killing well dug in infantrymen. But would the Syrian troops be well dug in? Does the IAF still have napalm?
