I think one of the great problems we have in the Republican Party is that we don't encourage you to be nasty. We encourage you to be neat, obedient, loyal and faithful and all those Boy Scout words, which would be great around a campfire but are lousy in politics.

Jim-

Thx! I would add Limbaugh to that list.

Example: Caller asked today if Rush would show the same courage as Sarah Palin and say who he would vote for in the FL primary. Limbaugh's reply: “That's not how I measure courage.” He then pivotted to another subject.

Yesterday he was spreading all the bogus Reagan crap ...then did a sort of retraction late in the show after the damage was done. Today gave another sort of retraction; then went on to pimp Santorum; knowing he can't win and will pull votes from Newt. He also pushed the premise that no one should be telling Santorum to drop out; it's still a 3-way race; blah, blah ad infinitum.

It is time for wide circulation in Florida of this 2008 video of Michelle Bachman literally paying homage to Gingrich and his role in the conservative movement, here

Send to all Floridians you know.

I have come to a belief (before this) that the political Parties do not represent the views of the people they are supposed to represent. What they (Party leaders) represent are the views of those who are comfortable with the status quo, and who prefer to be the string pullers of the people and not be responders to the will of the people.

That term “powers that be” comes to mind when I hear the term political Party leaders (of both Parties). The leaders don’t have a philosophy that they should work for us. They prefer that they yell “jump” and we say “how high” and as a result they are losing us, instead of uniting us.

I consider myself conservative but no longer beholden to the GOP as a Party person. I have written a letter to the editor chastising them for circumventing the public will by deciding in their smoke filled caucus backrooms prior to the primary election, which candidate should be rewarded with their endorsement kiss. The public should be given the opportunity to decide in an open primary election and not the Party hacks. The same should occur in this national primary for GOP candidate.

This move to get Mitt could backfire as Americans are not in a mood to accept the GOP establishment decision and blindly go with the establishment choice. The more the GOP says it must be Mitt, the more rebellion there will be from the rank and file.

Just my opinion.
