Rove was not a surprise; and remember back in ‘08, Coulter was on the Romney bandwagon. But Drudge and Tyrell are the real surprises. The only thing that I can think of is that they do not think Newt can displace barama.

What happened to Ann Coulter, anyway? I’ve been wondering why she, of all people, would say Romney is the only conservative. The only thing I can come up with is this: she has become very chummy with the Log Cabin Republicans and knows that Mitt is the only one who would elevate any of their requests within the party platform. Everyone else believes that their agenda should not be promoted. THAT has to be her reasoning. Ann has defected to the other side, essentially, as this group is an infiltrator, saying publicly that they are Republicans but were really democrats, looking to infiltrate the GOP.

Free Republic is one of the few remaining conservative sites still defiantly standing for God, Country, Family, Life & Liberty

Its the order that make FR unique and standing

Well said, Jim.

The faux conservatives are showing their stripes in supporting mittens and I for one won’t forget who they are.

Bumping the FReepathon for additional monthy donors!

Go NEWT!!

Sorry about the problem with my monthly donation. I lost my debit card 3 wks ago and had to wait for a new one. BUT, it never dawned on me that it was going to mess up my donation or I would have fixed it sooner.

The GOP left us. They took off for the left and have not yet looked back.

I am seriously beginning to consider switching to the Independent Party, but that would shut me out of the primaries here in Oregon.

There are no longer any good answers. That just ain’t right.

The Tea Party had better get behind Newt big time or we’ll end up with Mitt Obammy!

Yes Jim! As much as I don’t like or trust Newt I am sending another $20 donation to FR when I get paid next week! Not much but all I can do.

At least I am now able to begin to financially support the cause.

GOD BLESS US ALL!

Jim, making FR my homepage-replacing Drudge (don’t know why I haven’t done it before now anyway) and sending in a donation. God bless FR and God bless the USA.

I still can’t get over the fact that Newt Gingrich is the preferred alternative to Mitt Romney. I’m not particularly enthralled with any of the nonroms, but Newt..? Ugh.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn't make any sense at all.""

Jim, while I agree with you that Romney is a lib, I don't see Newt as much better. I am resigned to being stuck with a RINO, who will likely require constant Tea Party pressure to keep him anywhere close to toeing the conservative line, and in all likelihood will spend far too much time wandering across the aisle.

At this point, I'm just hopeful we get a conservative running mate.
