Those quarter-sawn yellow pine floors can be real beauts if you work at it.

Well, no stuff. That is what they are designed to do. <<
.
You’re in a world of hurt when they stop ‘leaking.’

"Do you have any idea what you have to go through just to drill a well or build a cistern in Colorado? " Nope.
I'm stayin put anyway.
I sometimes hit water here putting up fence posts.
Creede was a possibility once.

I know full well what is planned for rural Washington and what scares the most is that the GOP and the T-Pary is co-operating.
I went to a planning commission meeting and saw one of our local Republican PCOs working with the Sierra Club and ReSources against the local property owners.

Did you get one? Does it come with written directions?
Because a film on the internet won’t do when I forget how to set up the filter if it’s SHTF time.

The same thing as a “food grade” bucket, except it has a laundry detergent label on it, and you get it free with the soap.

Just bought one. Has not arrived yet. There is a Guy who bought one and posted it on you tube. His demo is great. Three wholes in buckets and a few washers and wing nuts. .So simple I know I could do it. Search for monolithic dome water filter on you tube.

Cities died because there was no reason to go or live there anymore; as manufacturing diappeared, fewer people worked in cities, and as the nature of shopping changed, fewer people had any reason to go there at all. At this point moving to a city is equivalent to adopting a public school teacher, a cop, a carrer politician, and five members of a permanent underclass family - you have to pay/clothe/house/feed all of them. No wonder companies and taxpayers have fled...
True, it ain't 1955 anymore, you can get what you need outside the city, food, cars, gas, healthcare (until Bammycare sets in), police scanners, guns, etc. Most people have cars too so they can go anywhere to get anything. AS my cousin said, "if you do not have a car and driver's license, you're ghetto, dude."
I would recommend one other thing, get a police scanner, preferably one that can trunk track and get digital (APCO-25 standard), but any will do, better than nothing. At least you can monitor most local cops, fire, amateur radio, medical and in some cases, military. IIRC, I've talked to a few old timers who seem to remember that due to the race riots of the late 1960's, the public started to get interested in monitoring police and such as VHF/UHF on the multi-band radios and early scanners at that time.
