Then, she surprised many on the political left and the political right - and many in between. She endorsed the Republican establishment's candidate, Mitt Romney, for the Republican nomination in 2012 very early in the primary campaign.
Rather than question what might have prompted such an endorsement, I want to discuss her efforts to harm the candidacy of a very good man, Rick Santorum. I believe they reveal bigger problems with serious implications.
It seems that Ann has been possessed by the spirit of Christopher Hitchens.
Seriously ... WTH has happened to Ann?!?
Maybe Catholics should stop buying this harridan’s screeching books.
I’m not Catholic but of the men still in the race, I trust Rick santorum more than any of the rest.
I think somebody has compromising pictures of Coulter, Christy and Romney. Although Ann and Romney are barely in the frame.
In my opinion if more of the candidates put God first including standing up for things that God condemns such as abortion and gay marriage, that is the candidate that could win this thing, because God honors those who do His will, and Santorum is the only candidate that I have heard that really seems to put the Lord first. I am sick of voting for those that put themselves first, and are too politically correct, too concerned with how their votes will be affected should they stand on the principles of the Bible at all costs, those are the candidates that are Christians in name only. I am sick of those. They are no better than our current POTUS.
Oh! That’s pretty good!! This could explain everything!!!
or maybe just like Nancy Pelosi?
LOl..I read the title and got excited in thinking she had recanted her endorsement of Romney and came around to Santorum. I cannot express my deep disappointment...
A Coulter sandwich would not be very nourishing. ;)
Ann Coulter's criticism of Rick Santorum for being "more of a Catholic than a Conservative" ... help explain why Catholics like me consider ourselves to be 'reluctant Republicans." She was derisive of Rick Santorum's concern for the poor. She mocked his insistence upon the connection between moral, social and economic issues. She was condescending and dismissive of his integrated campaign message.
After rereading the title, I do not know why I originally thought it might be a good thing...sorry, long day of work has me loopy I guess.
Santorum isn’t conservative but ROMNEY IS....?
I think they’ve copied Ann at Area-51 and have replaced her with a clone....?!?!?!
BEAM ME UP....!
It’s hard to keep the mask on when you have a huge agenda to push.
So tcg, how do you square Conservatism with the Catholic church position, as enunciated by people like the Archbishop of Los Angeles who basically flaunts our country’s immigration laws vis a vis illegal Mexican Immigration? To my mind, you can’t have church hierarchy “deciding” that their ideas about compassion and all that trumping Federal law. What say you?
Yeah Ann, Rick’s not a conservative like Christy and Romney.
I used to relish her articles, columns and interviews.
She’s been too influenced for too long by the beltway/ivy league pseudo-intellects.
She has lost touch with us out here in flyover country.
They can munch on asphalt for a year or two; they may then regain an understanding of things..
Ann is moving away from conservatism, much like some of the other women journalists, who once were quite conservative and had great followings. They all seem to get the bug to be more important in the MSM world. Kathleen Parker, and many more who are thrilled to be called on as the “conservative voice” in things have all sold out to become accepted by the “mainstream”. Once in a while they say something worthwhile, but who cares any longer? I never read them anymore. Their opinion is not consistent and doesn’t matter.
But it's ok to be democrat, who support abortions and gay marriage?
As for Coulter, I can only guess that she has become a Mormon in secret.....
