Snip: The practice of taking young boys to perform as dancers at private parties is known as bacha bazi (literally, "boy for play") and is an Afghan tradition with very deep roots. Under Taliban rule, it was banned, but it has crept back and is now widespread, flourishing also in the cities, including the capital, Kabul, and a common feature of weddings, especially in the north. The bacha dancers are often abused children whose families have rejected them. Their "owners" or "masters" can be single or married men, who keep them in a form of sexual slavery, as concubines. The bachas are usually released at the age of 19, when they can get married and reclaim their status as "male", though the stigma of having lived as a bacha is hard to overcome. The Afghan authorities and human rights groups are aware of the plight of bacha boys, but seem powerless to stop it.

The media will spend the next ten years with their heads up their sphincters trying to determine motive. Hmmm ..... what could it be now?
For those of us in the media who have not surrendered to jihad (all three of us), we have noticed a decided uptick in this activity. Arrests in the US are weekly now, sometimes daily.
Nothing to see here, folks, keep it moving until the next catastrophe. And then the enemedia and Hamas-CAIR operatives in DC will blame ...... counter jihadists. :)
Colorado man arrested on terrorism AP (hat tip Ken)
AURORA, Colo. (AP) — The FBI arrested a refugee from Uzbekistan at Chicago’s O’Hare airport on charges that he planned to travel overseas to fight for a terrorist group and give up his life if necessary, an official said Monday.
However, there was no evidence that suspect Jamshid Muhtorov was plotting attacks inside the United States, authorities said.
Muhtorov, 35, of Aurora, Colo., was arrested Saturday by members of the FBI’s Denver and Chicago Joint Terrorism Task Forces.
Muhtorov, who goes by several other names, was indicted for providing and attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. Prosecutors allege he planned to fight for the Islamic Jihad Union, which has been blamed for suicide attacks in Uzbekistan and claimed responsibility for numerous attacks against coalition forces in Afghanistan.
Muhtorov was arrested without incident before he could board a flight to Istanbul, Turkey, said Dean Boyd, a spokesman for the U.S. Justice Department in Washington.

DENVER - A refugee from Uzbekistan has been arrested in Chicago and charged with providing support to a suspected Islamic terrorist group that US authorities say is seeking to overthrow the secular government of his Central Asian home country.
Jasmshid Muhtorov, 35, who resides in Colorado, was taken into custody on Saturday at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport by FBI agents and made his initial court appearance in federal court on Monday, the US Justice Department said.
A North Carolina man sentenced to prison recently as part of a homegrown terrorist ring has been accused in a federal court document of plotting to kill witnesses who testified against him at trial. An affidavit unsealed in federal court Monday accuses Hysen Sherifi of plotting against the witnesses from his jail cell. Authorities say an FBI informant posing as a hit man met with Sherifi's brother and a female friend and accepted $5,000 and a photo of an intended victim.
FBI agents have arrested the brother, Shkumbin Sherifi, and Nevine Aly Elshiekh, a school teacher. Now in federal custody at the New Hanover County Jail, each is charged with a felony count of use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.

Feds: Triangle terrorist tried to have witnesses killed

Raleigh, N.C. — One of the men involved in a Johnston County terrorist cell that authorities said plotted attacks on a Marine base in Virginia and foreign targets tried to have witnesses in his trial last fall killed, according to federal records unsealed Monday.
Hysen Sherifi was found guilty after a month-long trial of conspiring to provide material support to terrorism and conspiring to carry out attacks overseas, two counts of firearms possession and conspiring to kill federal officers or employees. He was sentenced two weeks ago to 45 years in prison.
Federal authorities said Sherifi tried to hire someone to kill and behead at least three witnesses in the case, and he wanted pictures of the corpses to prove that they were dead. He also wanted a fellow inmate killed, believing the man tricked him out of some money, according to court documents.

Maryland man admits plotting terror attack on military recruiting center
Sniip Antonio Martinez, 22, admitted trying to use a weapon of mass destruction to blow up an Armed Forces recruiting center in Catonsville in December 2010, The Baltimore Sun reported Thursday.
The Maryland man, who also uses the name Muhammed Hussain, faces 25 years in prison over the foiled plot after coming to an agreement with prosecutors, the newspaper said.
Los Zetas worked with Lebanese man linked to Hezbollah, says US

It will include 17,000 square feet of biosafety Level 4 lab space -- used to study biohazards including Ebola -- and 34,000 square feet of biosafety Level 3 space, where researchers can work with other harmful agents including anthrax.
USAMRIID now occupies about 500,000 square feet across several buildings, Vander-Linden said.

Terror Groups Establish Ties With Drug Cartels

Michael A. Braun, the former intelligence chief for the DEA, testified this week at a hearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee that “collaboration between Latin American drug cartels and groups such as Iran’s Quds Force and the Islamic terror group Hezbollah is growing ‘far faster than most policymakers in Washington, D.C., choose to admit’” as reported by Guy Taylor for The Washington Times.
Many critics of the U.S. open border policy long have warned that Muslim terror groups may exploit the smuggling routes which have been established by the drug cartels in order to gain entry into the United States.
According to a former U.S. intelligence agent terror group Hezbollah has established itself in Mexico, and is providing explosives training to the drug cartels:
He told 10News the group receives cartel cash and protection in exchange for Hezbollah expertise. “From money laundering to firearms training and explosives training,” the agent said. * * * Tunnels the cartels have built that cross from Mexico into the U.S. have grown increasingly sophisticated. It is a learned skill, the agent said points to Hezbollah’s involvement.
Last fall Iran — a long-time sponsor of Hezbollah — allegedly hoped to involve Los Zetas in a plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States but thankfully the solicited man was a DEA informant which resulted in the terror bust.
At the House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing earlier this week multiple U.S. intelligence officials test testified “that Iran is prepared to launch terrorist attacks inside the United States” as reported by Greg Miller for The Washington Post.
No doubt the intelligence warnings will continue to fall on deaf ears in Washington, D.C. where the politicians would rather risk the lives of Americans than secure the border.
Snip: The two German Muslims admitted on Feb. 2 that they entered the country with terror manuals that also contained instructions on how to make homemade bombs. They also pleaded guilty to possessing documents that could be of use to terrorists, reported the Daily Mail.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is telling the people of Iran that the Twelfth Imam is managing the the revolution now underway in Egypt and in various parts of the Islamic world, and that “the final move has begun” to destroy America, Israel and the influence of the Western powers in the epicenter.
“We will soon see a new Middle East materialising without America and the Zionist regime and there will be no room for world arrogance (the West) in it,” Ahmadinejad told a crowd chanting “Death to America, death to Israel and death to Mubarak” last Friday.
Agence France Presse reported that “in his fiery style, Ahmadinejad, showed his messianic beliefs on Friday, saying the world was witnessing a revolution managed by Imam Mahdi, the 12 Shiite imam who disappeared as a five-year-old in the 10th century and who Shiites believe would return on the judgement day.”
“The final move has begun,” said Ahmadinejad. “We are in the middle of a world revolution managed by this dear (12th Imam). A great awakening is unfolding.
The Christian Science Monitor provided additional quotes from Ahmadinejad’s message. Iran’s revolution was “the starting point of the rule of God over the earth,” Ahmadinejad proclaimed. “It’s a long path to fight against evil-doers; everyone must be aware of Satanic deceptions” of the United States, Israel, and the West, he said, - adding that the U.S. and Israel would soon be “destroyed” with divine assistance, as Iran led humankind to “summits of perfection.”
The Monitor also covered Ahmadinejad’s references to the Twelfth Imam’s role in guiding the “global revolution” now underway.

I think 2012 is going to be a pivotal year in history. Depending on what lens you observe reality through, it might be thought of as the beginning of a period of great tribulations.
