I see you referred to Texas as Tejas. You do know Tejas is Caddo Indian for Friend or Ally right and not a Spanish word.

Yes, it is. And it is doing exactly what it was designed to do. We must keep clear heads during this period. The MSM has decided to denigrate and marginalize every one of the Republican candidates...and we, like the lemmings we seem to be, lap it up each time. Not a one of the Republican candidates is perfect, but they are far from the disasters the MSM would have us believe. The disaster would be having Obama for a second term, and that is what we must all keep foremost in our minds and efforts. JMHO.

Personally, I'm fed up with seeing the directions on every single product on every single shelf of every single store written in foreign languages.

That's the product of a global economy, not the lack of an official language. Products have instructions in multiple languages because the same product is often sold in many different countries, and it's cheaper to just produce one set of instructions.

Really, Rick? LOL!

“We don’t care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there. And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers. That’s why Texas took the national lead in allowing such deserving young minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate. Those young minds are a part of a new generation of leaders, the doors of higher education must be open to them. The message is simple: education es el future, y si se puede.”

Source: Excerpt from Governor Perry’s speech during the border summit in August 2001.

Keep wavin' that wet finger, Rick.

English the official language of the United States

English is already the official language of the United States of America because English is the language used to write America’s laws. The de facto language that codifies a nation’s laws becomes that nation’s official language.

“Amazing how people hate Perry but give Romney,Cain and Newt a pass.
Then there is that Bachmann beasty”

It’s really amazing, isn’t it? The level of contempt and vitriol for Perry is inexplicable. And yet, just last fall, Newt Gingrich’s name was poison around here. Dede Scozzafava, anybody? And then there’s the global warming mess, which Newt buys into, and which Perry has declared a hoax. Anyone who falls for that crap will help to bankrupt the country. Yet conservatives willingly turn a blind eye to everything they know about Newt, while trashing a solid conservative with a decade of proven leadership (Perry).

I simply do not get it.

I agree—English should be the first language in the land-!!! BUT Spanish should be the second language. All others kicked to the side! No more ballets in tagalog or Hindi, No more Chinese or French. Just English and Spanish—with English always first.

I just don’t understand why Perry is the lightning rod for this language argument.

Seems to me that DIEBOLD are the ones that make Spanish the first choice of languages at the ATM.
Whats up with that?
I also get that BS on the phone with those automated menu guides.
LOL!

Press 5 for english...

Actually, no. I was trying to emphasize the Mexican Spanish pronunciation of “Texas” by using a consonant which is more commonly used for an “h” sound. Next time, I’ll just right, “Tay-hasse.”

“This is entirely fabricated from you fevered mind. Rick Perry NEVER said any such thing, and I think you well know it. What does that make you?”

This is what Rick Perry said:

“Personally, I’m fed up with seeing the directions on every single product on every single shelf of every single store written in foreign languages. And I’d like to say English should be the official language of government in this country.”

If Rick Perry did not want to limit or prohibit companies from printing languages besides English on their labels and directions, why would he say that he was fed up with it?

He does have the power to pardon individuals....but there’s a problem doing so en masse. Too many questions arise ......individual illegals do not have the same history (which must be considered).

But the Royal Idiot has demonstrated laws mean nothing to him....he does what he wants, regardless of the law.
