Palin will never be in the #2 slot again. Been there, done that. No one would choose her anyway because she’d overshadow the actual nominee. Gingrich was just responding to a callers question and being diplomatic about it.
Besides, isn’t Palin sort of busy shopping another realityTV show? I think it is pretty clear she’s settled on doing that and political commentary for Fox (or some other network in the future) till at least the run up to 2016 or 2020.
I bet at the next campaign stops Newt will pick Judd Gregg in NH and Haley Barbour in South. Timing is a key element when it comes to winning elections.
Yeah, about as much as it changed my mind about McPain.Newt is a name-dropper. Sarah would drop kick his invitation like it was a NYT reporter.
I want to hear someone ask Mittney Mouse the same question.
“Ah, well, haha, I don’t think I should comment on that, for Pete’s sake!”
Newt, you had me at “Sarah Palin”.
Now that would be a ticket I could get enthused about.
Newt was asked a question which he answered politely - what do you expect him to say? “No” and then get pummeled with WHY NOT! and give the media headlines for the next week that “Newt doesn’t like Sarah” - guaranteeing a lot of lost votes.
It was a set up question, folks - and even a lot of Freepers are falling for it. Discouraging. How easily the lambs are led.
Now, as too who he really is thinking of picking - a PERFECT choice and a ticket that would set obummer’s teeth on edge and the county afire - He said TEN MONTHS AGO - before his had even thrown his hat in -

There’s no doubt that Newt admires Sarah - and Sarah likes Newt...but she will unlikely never run for VP again - for many reasons. She can be more effective in non-elected positions, where she has more free reign...and not put her family through the wringer again so soon.
Newt’s say on Sarah - as he so adroitly stops a lib reporter COLD

Sarah on Newt, starting at minute 9:00 to about 12:30

One scenario I hadn’t considered. Could put Newt over the top.
How is responding to a question tactfully considered to be “floating” an idea?
Bizarre.
I would vote for this ticket in a second!
Anything to get Palin back into the fray with skin in the game!
Has Sarah decided it's between Newt & Mitt? ..seems so.
GOP Ballot Tracking, Among Republican Registered Voters (Romney 26, Gingrich 24, Paul 11.)
Any GOP Candidate would do well to remain open to a Palin on their ticket. It almost worked for McLame, didn’t it?
I for one would not be too sure that she would accept such an offer, regardless of which Candidate or Nominee it came from.
I don’t know but have a sense that McLame did something to double cross her at the end that broke her heart, and I rather doubt that she wants to play that game again any time soon.
There is a reason why she is sitting this one out, IMHO.
