If Romney is too wimpy to point out the hypocrisy then he’s too wimpy to be president.

That’s not the case at all. They don’t want the world to see that his college grades were all A+++, that he knew much more than any professor, that he was able to read minds; that he could recite, from memory, any line, from any known work, could speak every language and every dialect in the world, and could tell the future and was possessed of superhuman qualities. (They just don’t want the world to know who he is.)

Whether Romney is smart or not he is not likely to request the records nor is any other Republican leader. They’ve had since 2007 to challenge Obama. The press and the Democrats will scream racism just as they did with the birth certificate controversy. The failure of the GOP to demand the actual certificate be produced, instead of accepting the copy provided by the White House, speaks volumes.
Obama has demonstrated he can successfully ignore requests for information and the press will cover his back. If the experts who looked at the long form certificate are correct Obama can also successfully forge documents and pass them as real without being challenged. I’m not holding my breath his actual college transcripts will be revealed.
The only way we might get a glimpse would be for the Republican nominee, immediately after the convention, to go on television and produce actual copies of his/her birth certificate, service records, academic records, and tax returns/financial statements. All of these copies of originals should be accompanied by signed and notarized authorizations from the Republican nominee permitting a representative of the media to go to the issuing institution and inspect the original documents. A major public display and challenge for Obama to do the same might put enough political pressure on Obama to give visibility to actual documents. A lot would depend on the Republican candidate’s willingness to demand Obama produce the documents over a period of weeks and the ability of the mainstream press to bury the issue by not reporting on it.
McCain wouldn’t go after Obama’s background in 2008. I doubt Romney or Gingrich will use political capital to demand documents in 2012. Certainly the press isn’t going to investigate on its own.
