I was for many years a member of the Young Republican National Executive Committee. On one occasion in about 1988 we were expected to for a receiving line to shake the hand of Howard Baker. We seldom formed such a receiving line. My reaction to shaking his hand was to go straight to my hotel room to take a long shower. His corruption seemed to ooze from every pore.
