That is the problem. Who paid for this court and this case? The taxpayers?

The taxpayers and our courts should not be used for making imaginary trials and awarding imaginary sums as punishment.

No award that big stands. An appeal will be filed.

The defendant is in the pen! Has no money!

This was not a suit filed for money!...but to highlight that the man who sexually abused and set on fire an 8 year old kid, was never charged for the crime. He has been serving time for another crime.

It's over and done!

True, but...

An 8 year old kid was raped and set on fire by a man who was never charged with nor went to trial for the crime...so the taxpayers didn't have to pay for that trial which would have prevented this one.

An attorney says a Texas jury has awarded the largest verdict he has ever heard of

Translation: Attorney says he has just received the largest settlement payment in the history of law suits...$150 billion

His clients will receive $1.2 million.............

I don’t think a pretend trial makes up for it though

It seemed to make all the difference in the world to the kid's mother.

It's sad that she had to go through all that for her son to have his day in court!

It happened 13 years ago...and her son died last April.

Better ways to make a statement than wasting taxpayers money in courts.

Well, Einstein, why don't you bitch to the mother of the kid who was raped and set on fire and law enforcement never filed charges against the man who did it.

I can think of a lot of worse ways to waste taxpayer's money!
