I thought they were supposed to vote on this yesterday or today. Having trouble getting votes I hope.

Voting today, and I don’t think they will have trouble getting the votes.

I was just reading about this earlier. I am not sure I understand it, but sounds like it could be both HUGH and SERIES.

Have to get the truth from Pravda? Strange times.

I think it’ll be good to get a record of who votes for this. I suspect though it’ll never pass the house. Its hard to imagine it would. Even then I’m sure any number of non-profits will send it directly to fed court. The ideas in it are cosmically stupid. Then again look at its authors and all will become clear.

This is a serious issue, but you do realize your posting this “news” article from a Kremlin funded propaganda wing don’t you? Al Jazeera is a more reliable news source than those people.

What the heck! How did this triple post happen? Sorry about that, folks. My computer’s running slow, and maybe I thought my post hadn’t gone through.

Washington Times
Defying a veto threat from President Obama, the Senate voted Tuesday to preserve language that would give the U.S. military a crack at al Qaeda operatives captured in the U.S., even if they are American citizens.
Led by Sen. Carl Levin, the Michigan Democrat who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, senators voted 61-37 to preserve the language that gives the military custody of al Qaeda suspects, rather than turning them over to law enforcement officials.
Not sure what to think, because I don't see it stopping at al Qaeda. The definition of terrorists and who is a terrorist can change with every administration. There are some who see the Tea Party movement as terrorists - folks who oppose the government and are heavily armed.

ya know. If they formally declare CONUS to be a battlefield, that might just be all the justification some patriots need to make it a real one.
