Well...supporting her voice on a strong column of air, and projecting her voice...it seems she’s got that all down pat...Pat.
Now her pitch accuracy and timing may need just a little work.
I think the GOP people in New Hampshire pay attention. The Union Leader’s endorsement has always been considered critical.
My personal opinion is that Newt is unreliable and will implode as a general candidate. He’s not tough enough to withstand the constant attacks (remember his whining about not getting to come off the front of Air Force One when he rose with Clinton) and there will be plenty to attack him with (infidelity, his book deal as Speaker, his management style as Speaker, his going after Clinton in Impeachment, etc.). We also know little about Callista and I am sure they are busily digging into her past.
The UL’s endorsement is based on TALK. This is the problem we are having. The debates, the conservative pundits, the radio talk-show hosts, etc. all make their livings with words and so think the ability to “articulate conservatism” is THE most important trait in a presidential candidate. It is not.
Character, consistency, and persistence are more important. Toughness and the ability to keep a steady course is more important. Hard work is more important. Newt does not have these traits.
But the Union Leader makes their money by printing words, so they went for Newt.
Talk is cheap. I live by the maxim “Deeds not words.” And I am going to support Perry, if he makes it to Indiana.
I cannot watch or listen to Huntsman. There is something about the man that just repulses me. It may be that I feel like a third party standing between him and his love affair with himself.
In another attempt to bribe the child, last night I urged her to play in bathtub, which she does quite like Mom-Mom’s bathtub, it being a big affair that I never use. I told her I would set her hair in curls. Which I did but it was quite wet last night around 9 pm when I set it.
Thus it did not dry and her hair looked awful, all bent and crimped and frizzy. With some effort I got it calmed and to make her feel like all was well, I put one of my headbands in her hair. She kept telling me that her mother wanted a picture as I’d made this tempting offer before her mother left her with me for the night. Her mother said no such thing about wanting a picture, it was Kaitlyn who wanted a picture.
Anyway, with the headband and my ministrations I managed to make her look less like a Muppet but darn if she didn’t insist on me taking a picture because “her mother wanted one”.
The things you gotta do.
She is my one and only grandchild, she is an amazingly well-adjusted, well-behaved child. If you should ask her how is she doing, she replies with a great big smile in her voice...”I’m doing GREEEEEAAAAT. How about you?”
Our choir Director did come over to thank the young lady for singing with us. She very politely said “you’re welcome”.
I love her more than just about anything and, inserting a bit of politics here, I want her to have the country to grow up in that I had.
She so deserves it.
Ugh...Durbin threatening tax increases on “working families” if Congress doesn’t act.
RAT Wallace badgering Kyl to increase taxes.
The understatement of the year.
;)
That is such a perfect description of Huntsman.
I used to work with the children’s choir when I was still a Methodist (Catholic convert here). The great difficulty with children is getting them to sing in key. Their ability to control their vocal chords is very iffy at that age, which is why good children’s choirs are so admired. And also why so few children make it IN to a children’s choir.
Most children think the key to great music is VOLUME! LOL! I will bet if you work with her on matching vocal tone to piiano note she will come along quite nicely.
You know MM, for my tongue-in-cheeky tone, I think you're right. She does quite love to sing and that ghost thing she does is how she seems to THINK a soprano would belt out a tune. I've heard her sing when she doesn't think anyone's paying attention and she can carry a tune. I doubt she'll be on The X Factor any time soon but me and her mother do sing though we are more choral singers than solo types.
I think she'll end up being a quite capable singer that can carry a tune maybe with the help of a bucket.
She sang every single hymn we sang in church and she was, insert smile here, as loud as the adults all around her. And these were songs she didn't know but she turned the hymnal to the song as the Cantor indicated, she read the words and she roughly followed the notes.
I'm proud of her but she needs to get over this trying to sound like Beyonce.
Well, if she shows a proclivity...show her videos of some child prodigies...encourage her.
Young kids are great mimics and information sponges.
Maybe you’ll create a great singer and enhance that gramma bond.
Ain't "mute" great?
I could see his lips moving...and you know what that means.
this HUGH AND SERIES!
OH....we need the Huge Manatee!
I am sobbing with despair, Say it isn’t so!
His position will turn the tide for Hunstman and he will come up to 3 % next week! You heard it from me first!
WHAAAAT????
Hey, why not? We’re already sending ‘aid” to china.
Hey, wouldn’t it be funny if she went on American Idol and when her national TV turn came sang a Gospel HYmm! ha.
You know, we’ve sure been through the mill with these candidates, haven’t we?
They’ve all had a turn as flavor of the day and coming soon time to hone in on a choice. Though I caution that I will support the Repub nominee except maybe not Romney, still pondering that. I do know the alternative is Obama, I get that.
And I consider Newt a problem though he does have superior gift of gab and having a Republican with great communication skills would be something new. Still I think he changes with the wind; I’m not convinced he has an ingrained Conservative idealogy is what I’m saying here. The Dems make mincemeat out of these sorts.
I like Cain and should he get the nomination I will heartily support him. Yes I’m a bit worried about what might pop up out of the woodwork but I note that once he flaunted the fact that he has a lawyer on the case the frenzy has died down. Those women out making accusations with no proof at all (and oddly coming out of only Chicago whilst Cain lived all over America) need to know that damaging someone’s reputation can have a cost.
I’m okay with Perry. Again, should he get the nomination he gets my whole-hearted support.
Forget Romney or Huntsman....for now let me pray that on some miracle neither of them get the nod.
But with all the hoo-haw dying down I now look back with more gentle eyes at....MICHELLE BACHMANN!
Seems to me that she survived the flavor of the week nicely. I mean, what did the media and the RINOS have on Bachmann to go nuts over? She stepped on her tongue a few times maybe? Like that’s never happened before in the history of the world.
I’d venture they don’t have anything major on her anywhere else we’d have heard it by now. She stands her ground and while some get annoyed, she points out how sometimes the other opponents’ are wrong in the things they say.
Anyway, that’s where I stand for now.....and since you beg me to continue on....here’s my preferences for nominees in order.
5-Romney
4-Huntsman
3-Gingrich
2-Cain
1-Perry
....Michelle Bachmann now at the top of my list.
The taxpayers here in the Bay Area and elsewhere are paying for the clean-ups, the endless police overtime, the emergency room visits for the violence and health issues all fostered by the OWS losers. Less obvious, is that the broken glass of, for example, 50+ windows at the U.S. Bank in Seattle this morning, is reminiscent of Kristallnacht 73 years ago this month.
Yup.
I tried to spare you.
Me? I’ll get over it should Frum leave.
He so speaks from Obama’s anus!
Russert cussin’ him from the grave; “What are you doing to my once credible show you moron!?!?”
I think it is the way he speaks. He acts like he is trying to hide his teeth with his lips.
My democrat sister thought Michelle Bachmann was a Mormon. This, of course, it the problem with democrat voters, who make their decisions based on fictional portrayals of politicians.
I pointed out to her that Huntsman WAS a Mormon, which she didn’t know.
I will vote for whoever gets the nomination on the GOP side. I do not think the nation can withstand 4 more years of Obama. We will end up as he intends, barefoot and in rags, wandering the landscape foraging for food with the dogs.
