And easy call if you want to repeat the same mistake Conservatives made with Bush. So once again we should repeat the same mistake we made in 2000 thinking a glib slick talking old GOP Establishment water boy is going to go to DC and act like a Conservative.

I heard today that Herman Cain had been offered a compromise.

Only TEN lashes if he returns to the Democrat Plantation voluntarily - NOW....

I want Cain to come out on top but I have two problems with him right now:

1) Notwithstanding the possible links with the enemy camp with this Bailek woman, I think Cain could be doing a much better job of publicly demanding specific times and dates and telling her and the media that until she does so, to put up or shut up and stop wasting his and the American people's time with this stuff.

2) The feeling that he may not be listening to the problems with the last "9" of his "999" plan - the introduction of a whole new tax with out repealing the 16th amendment and income tax first.

Gingirch is the debater extraordinaire. The problem I have with Gingrich is his past. Has he really laid out before the American people with a clear repentance and change of heart, his moral failings of an extramarital affair while in Congress and his admitted (in Congress, not necessarily directly to the American people) Congressional indiscretions. Why should the American people give him POTUS with anything less than that? He also seems sort of arrogant and "smarter than thou." And I'm not sure how consistent he is behind the scenes.

Dang man, what will it take to get Palin back into this? We're steaming full speed ahead at night through an ice field and you can smell the icebergs.

If Newt wins the nomination, I’m Ok with it, but he wouldn’t be my first choice. I just want to beat Obama. (politically, leftists)

Make no mistake, MSM/REP est pollsters will pick our candidate.

How's that? If those polls are all bogus, then when people go into the polls and vote for the person they really want, that person will be elected.

So many otherwise sensible conservatives follow these polls at RCP looking for trends??? Just blows my mind

The RCP average was almost dead-on in the 2008 election. How did they manage that if they just made up the numbers?

Obviously, not every poll is accurate, and there are certainly outliers. But that doesn't mean that polling does not give us a better idea of where things stand than we would otherwise have.

Don't get me wrong -- polling does not affect which candidate I support. But for purposes of discussion only -- which is what a forum is -- they have value.

Sure heard the same thing in 2008. Only problem with this Romneybot theory is Romney cannot win south of the Mason Dixon line.

Why does anyone thing Newt, who has more political baggage then any of the other candidates, is going to beat 0?

Really think running the one candidate who can be painted as “part of the GOP Establishment that wrecked the economy” by the 0bama Media machine is going to beat 0?

I like Newt, but I’m not writing Perry off either. I think he did a good job using his brain fart over the Dept of Energy to get on talk shows where comes off well. I also saw my first Perry TV ad yesterday. We’ll see.

As for Cain, his best poll was 30% right before the harassment story broke and he’s been sliding ever since. Last week all the Cainiacs were boasting that the story hadn’t hurt Cain, and I was pointing out his sliding poll ratings. I don’t think a lot of undedided voters are going to switch to him at this point. To do so they would have to be convinced that the story is bogus, and a lot of them just aren’t comfortable making that judgement, plus they don’t want to hear about the story for the next year. They will pick a safe choice rather than take that chance.

I am a bit surprised at Romeny’s drop. I don’t see anything to really account for that. I figured Myth would hold at 25-30% short of some mamouth meltdown.

But Willard Obama-Lite is DOWN in IA, SC, FL.. to CAIN in THE THREE STATES where conservatives will decide our nominee in 2012. Period.

So how is the serial flip flopper and chronic liar cruising by merely winning his home liberal state of NH?

ALSO, I doubt Cain even contests NH -- but still cruises to a top two there.

IA = CAIN

NH = Romney (CAIN 2nd without even trying)

SC = CAIN

FL = CAIN

GAME. SET. MATCH. CAIN.

GAME. SET. MATCH. CAIN.

That’s pretty amazing with Cain sliding in the polls and 7 weeks before the first caucus vote.

In any case, I think we all know that Paul, Bachmann, Santorum and Huntsman are going nowhere.

My order is Cain, then Gingrich. I’ve voted for Romney three times now so I’m done. Won’t vote for him again, even if he is the nominee. MA is going to Obama anyway.

" I think we are seeing the Tea Party Conservatives migrate to Cain and the East Cost Conservatives migrate to Gingrich. That leaves the 10% liberals with Mitt and the 10% Birchers with Paul. I am guessing the others will continue to fade out. But things can always change."

Agree 100%.

CBS: Cain 18, Newt 15, Romney 15; Cain and Romney Losing Support

The good news in this poll is that 85% of primary voters WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY.

Sliding in IA, SC, or FL?

Cain is gaining in ALL THREE.

Remember IA + SC = FL and Cain is our nominee. Deal with it in Rombotland.

I’m sticking with Herman. That’s all.

Ditto. Whereas I find Gingrich more versed in "politics" than Cain; I do not consider that to be directly beneficial. We want a President who will refuse to play political games, not someone who knows how to play them. I would appreciate Gingrich's aid, however. As Secretary of State, or perhaps even VP, his experience would be a great asset in helping our man avoid the political games played by our enemies -- foreign and domestic.
