Regarding Reagan. As governor of CA he was the one that pushed through the ban on open-carry of weapons which was the beginning of the end for the 2nd Amendment in California.

And when he was out of office, he supported the Brady Bill.

And don’t forget him going weak after the Marines got bombed in Lebanon.

Thank God that the internet wasn’t around when Reagan was - he never would have been elected/ reelected I don’t think.

I’m in the air between Cain and Perry.

Thank you for the link, but I was asking for the link to the law that says the states HAVE to offer ESL... I know they DO offer it...

I am also a former teacher and ESL is a hinderance, not a help, as you alluded to in your reference to the ESL teacher who said she’d still be in the Valley speaking Spanish...

Are you really that stupid or just the great pretender?...with ZERO sense of humor!

Who ever heard of a school district becoming wealthy by any means?!...much less on the backs of taxpayers.

Are you a liberal in disguise? You would have to be to even think taxpayers = wealth.

You’re a hoot!

Nicely said.

If you check my posts and threads today and yesterday, I have been trying in earnest to 1.) post threads that help all conservatives and then also 2.) to post things that promote the candidate I personally like, Rick Perry (purposely looking for articles that primarily note JUST Rick Perry and not just a negative slant against another candidate as a whole... but in all of them, I’ve been trying to keep my first attention to being part of a larger conservative group here and a part of beating Romney and then Obama in November 2012.

We are going to need to deal with questions on issues. We need to somehow if we are to hold our politicians and candidates alike accountable to a conservative agenda. I’m not sure how the best way of doing that is, but I can tell you I’m trying to at least remember though it all that I’m a conservative first and no matter what one and all have that is not perfect, ALL our conservative candidates are worthy of respect and of the support of those conservatives who support them.

Thank you for your wisdom in the middle of it all.

Why don't the people in the 46 states that aren't border states put pressure on your congressmen to do something about it?

Better late than never but we've been having this party for decades and those of you not affected have ignored it. Why do you think the Feds have not helped secure the border? Could it be that you don't care until it knocks on your door?

So if you want to help...don't gripe at the border states, gripe at your own congressmen!

Thought some of you might like to see another thread I just started which explains why the grassroots Tea Party organization FreedomWorks supports Flat Tax principles.

While The Perry Plan which is debuting this upcoming Tuesday will have a lot more involved than just tax reform, this article has a quick and concise view of flat tax principles and why it is so acceptable to fiscal conservatives and Tea Party groups and individuals.

That new thread is here:

Flat Tax is Gaining Steam Again

If that was a joke, then don’t quit your day job, because it wasn’t funny. And you never know what will come from a Perrybot anymore. Next thing you know, the be touting the pro-illegal stance along with him....oh, wait! They already do. Sorry, that kind of “satire” coming from a Perry shill is simply too believable...

The Legislature supported that law in 2001 and 2005. They refused to pass a Bill that would have overturned it, just this year.

Oh, the irony... the pro-illegal, RINO supporting freeper calling ME a liberal? LOL.... sure, ok...

I have a rock hard, extremely steady conservative stance that does not change. Ever. My 7 year posting history on FR would prove that.

Again, it’s where Perry stands that matters, right? Perry doesn’t want the bill repealed. He said he is still for the TX Dream Act...and still supports it. that’s all we need to know.

YOu know, I am really perplexed by people!!!

Whether you like Perry or not, number 1 he isnt a RINO, and I am so sick of seeing it on here!

You may not like his tuition for illegals, as you call it, but if you look into all the details you would understand the premise.

it isn't like Rick Perry was a cheerleader for the bill, it was the lessor of two evils.

Also, so he can't debate, so what Mitt can, do you want him? I think not!

As much as I liked Cain and still like him as a person, he is the one that is truly not ready for prime time.

Why do all the so called conservatives here give him a pass on his abortion flip flops, when if it has been Perry, you would have all been up in arms with guns blazing?

so you can see why I am perplexed! Rick Perry is not the Devil and to all those who are spewing lies and propaganda, I say, Enjoy Mitt because he won't beat Obama!

Real conservatism means a whole lot more than that one law, which in itself violates no conservative principle. But logic doesn’t matter. This isn’t vetting, it’s fanatic single issue madness that can’t even grasp the fact that Texas simply chose to make lemonade out of lemons.

True conservatism believes in human rights derived from the Creator. So, if people make it past the border because of Federal neglect, states can’t do much about it, except try to integrate them into society as productive members. That manifests true conservatism rooted in human rights.

He has been on the front line fighting the Feds, who bring hundreds of thousands of illegals to our state, the DOJ who dumped 300,000+ deportation cases last year and the ICE, which brings bus loads of illegals caught in Arizona, to Texas’ small border town crossings and turns them loose.

I think the ESL crap came under one of the Title programs but not sure.

I know one thing--the dist. I was in would not have had it if it had not been mandatory.

The ESL training programs wouldn't be all over the country if it wasn't for the Feds...IMO.
