Agreed. This is the crucial election in which we can see the dems routed in the Senate, as well as expand control of the House. Now is the time to vote in droves for republicans in Congress. As we’ve just seen with Zero, the president can propose plans and go on TV and attempt to use the bully pulpit to push his agenda, but the House and Senate write the bills. I do NOT want Romney, but I can’t see him vetoing tax cuts, energy legislation, etc. Obama could single handedly put a stop to everything a GOP House and Senate attempt.
“What is so wrong with Bachmann?”
I love Bachmann! Now there’s a true Constitutional conservative.
“I’d rather not see the issue forced, but for the first time since Lincoln’s election, a third party run will succeed.”
Let’s hope we get a CONSERVATIVE GOP nominee, so we don’t have to find out if a 3rd party run would succeed, or not. 3rd party gave us Clinton, and we don’t want to repeat history.
I don't like the thought of mittens, he is a squish and he can't be trusted but obummer can be trusted, to complete the job of destroying SCOTUS with at least 1 and maybe 3 uber lefties, re-writing obummer care, and using every department and little policy wonk trick that he can to destroy the USA.
Mittens in no prize and you obviously can vote for whom ever you choose, but third party candidates, on a national level, cannot win.
As for being a GOP elitist, I've been to TEA party rallies, my guy is Herman and I donate, carry guns {always} am pro-life, switched parties to vote against sphincter in the demonRAT primary {switched back}, I'm a real "GOP elitist", you betcha...
Just a shameless bump so you can remind your friends what can happen if they vote for a liberal Republican in the primaries.
Buchanan is right. I could never conceive of voting for a third party before, but if the nominee is Romney and there’s a third party that’s actually conservative and makes it into the debates like Perot did, they have my vote. I think if Newt loses this primary he should hook up with this Americans Elect party, which is non-ideological and being pushed by Doug Schoen on Fox News, and maybe draft Trump as V.P.:
A 3rd party CAN win, especially in this climate that’s disgusted with Washington and the current parties. Regardless, the Republicans need to be taught a lesson if they push Romney on us. A lifetime of liberal Rs and Ds trading hands of the presidency is not acceptable. Better to risk suffering 4 more years of Obama if it means after him we can usher in a true Reaganite conservative. Short-term pain, long-term gain. That’s better than 8 years of Mittney Mouse, the white Obama. Even if he won, most likely, Demomitt’s liberal policies, including the ones he flip-flops back to, will fail and simply usher in a comeback of Obama in 4 years or Hilary or a new, more lefty Democrat. I don’t want a lying, sleazy scumbag who lies to every voter’s face over and over again as the standard-bearer of my party, plain and simple. Any party that thinks he’s a good choice is not a party I want to be a part of.
Romney definitely can’t win Pennsylvania. This is a blue-collar state and the Reagan Democrats in the “T” in Pennsylvania absolutely despise and do not trust slick-talking, big city, prep-school, Wall Street types like Romney. They would love Newt though, who was born in and lived in our state capital Harrisburg until he was 10. He has our same sense of patriotism, interest in American history, pragmatic mindset, willingness to question authority, etc.
I think Romney’s poll numbers wouldn’t be anywhere near as high as high if people knew his record, or his total lack of any accomplishments that have anything to do with governing conservatively. Unfortunately they’re selling him based solely on his looks and by covering up as much of his past as possible. It’s the exact same way the Democrats sold Obama to the general electorate. Except this time a pretty large chunk of the base is falling for it too. The fact that Romney’s numbers have not come down at all is a bad sign for us. His support seems rock solid and he only has the potential to go up from here as the other candidates are slimed to death.
