So, the answer is to allow Obama another 4 years? This is not a good idea at all. Romney may not be the best, and he may be a disappointing nominee, but unless some miracle happens (who knows, maybe God will intervene), it looks as though we may be stuck with him.
If we are stuck with Romney, than we will have to work all the harder in the 2012 elections to select and elect solid conservatives to every single office that it is feasible to occupy. Staying out of the process, and or pouting is not a way to save our wonderful country. We have to stay and fight!!! We cannot and must not allow the liberals amongst us to destroy our momentum and our hopes for a real change in the political climate of the USA. Down with liberalism.

That's exactly my thinking on all points as well.
I am really disturbed to see a small cabal led by the aforementioned ding-a-ling and his harpies who act as if the GOP, conservatism and the decision on the nomination are the property of Texas.
To: Jim Robinson
And I hope you mean — and I certainly mean — even if he is the Republican nominee against Obama. The best I will EVER do for Romney, is not vote for his opponent. I will never be caught casting a vote for a Socialist, no matter what the party label is.

I'd rather write-in the name of the tea party conservative who best matches my beliefs. If the Romster is the nominee, I pledge to write in Herman Cain.

Well said Jim, and BRAVO.
This is something that our fellow FReeper SickOfLibs (just like you) has consistently been pointing out for years, which is that when RINOs like Romney get into power, their behavior is almost indistinguishable from the 'Rats and their fellow travelers. That '(R)' behind their name gives them political cover so far as the mostly ignorant masses are concerned, and they expand the reach and power of the federal behemoth, they enact measures that further limit our individual freedoms and liberties, and the Constitution is basically whatever shape they twist it into, in the name of political expediency.
These statists and worshipers of big government could not care less regarding our God-given freedoms that were established in that sacred Constitution. The previous Administration laid the foundation for such unConstitutional and tyrannical entities such as the 'Department of Homeland Security', the 'TSA', et al. WTF are such Nazi-sounding and performing agencies doing here in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave? Oh, those 'enhancements' and 'reorganizations' were enacted with the BEST of intentions in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, but the current regime is doing exactly what many Americans feared would happen, they are taking those well intentioned national security 'tools' and utilizing them for the purposes of intimidating, oppressing and persecuting/prosecuting law abiding American citizens while traitors and terrorists operate on American soil, pouring through the southern border, with little to inhibit them with the continuing "catch and release" program of the Feds, and the subversive policies of certain 'sanctuary' cities all across this Nation.
If RINO Romney is the GOP nominee for 2012, I will do as you have stated Jim, I will vote for conservative candidates lower on the ticket, and I will NOT cast my vote for Obomney no matter who he has on the ticket with him. If a legitimate conservative third party candidate challenges a hypothetical Romney-as-nominee, I will cast my vote for that challenger.
The line in the sand must be (and has been) drawn, and you have drawn it Jim, 'as for me and my house', if it turns out to be "GOP NOMINEE = ROMNEY" it will be at the top of the ticket.
God Save America.

I will not vote for Romney.
It would be Obama II, with no opposition remaining.

That’s it, another $10 for FR. Wish I could put in more.
The weird thing is if they stuff Romneypuke as a candidate, guaranteed he’ll lose. But they’d rather have him and lose, than have a real conservative and win.

To: edzo4
Edzo, if Romney gets the pubby nomination the media will destroy him with revelations on LDS inc materials. In that event, writing in Sarah Palin may be the way to send the final message to the GOPlop that We The Conservatives of America are not going to tolerate any more rinoism amsquerading as conservatism, compassionate or otherwise.

We have enough disciplined Conservatives in Congress with more to come in 2012 to hold Mittens feet to the fire for our agenda. Mittens won't undermine his Presidency by going to war with the Repub. Congress.
For anyone to say that you don't know what you will do if it's Romney vs. Bambi is asinine at best.

Me too. I have been waiting for my check( paid monthly) to donate to Cain and freerepublic..
if I am not mistaken, the first time I learned about freerepublic.com was during the recount.
my girlfriend and I were so pissed we drove all the way to Tallahassee. Some Guy was holding a sign with freerepublic on it. I took a mental note to remember the name.
thanks
