I forget which one of the talkers was saying the end of October. I heard a lot of that last week. October 14 is right around the corner. Looks like we will know shortly. Thanks for that AB.

I can't believe as closely as I thought I followed Palin I still don't have a clue which way she will go.

For sure. I would not believe a word that comes out of Christaiaaannnnnnneees mouth.

ON the other hand I watched the Cain interview with Chris Wallass and he was nothing short of brilliant.especially when Wallasss got all his 9-9-9 stats wrong and had to be corrected.

I can't decide whether Cain's lack of holding a political office is a plus or a minus.

I guess a the potus level you should have had some experience holding a political office but in this environment of political office holders achieving a 9% positive rating (out of 100%)among the public maybe it's not such a big deal.

I don’t know and at this point I apologize for having offended you in some way.

If I were to dig deep I guess I was saying, in response to the poster to whom I was commenting, that I too have to get up early in the morn to exercise and I’d sure like to sleep late.

But you win, ok. My comment was not germane, maybe I was bragging, perhaps I should have kept quiet.

All part of my great imperfection.

Moving on....but you can keep on commenting, you have the last word....enjoy.

OK I caught a little bit of FNS and the beginning on MTP. Its obviously a left wing talking point and run with this "republican audience booed gay soldier" crap. Anyone with half a brain ( that would apparently exclude John McCain) could listen or watch a tape of that debate and it was at most 2 or 3 people "booing" the gay soldier. They know that most people will not bother to check the tape and they will just obediently believe anything the MSM tells them. And quite frankly it ticks me off that these left wing bastards would get away with this. Even McCain fell for this crap. The lies have to be refuted at every turn.

On the favorable side CBS This Morning had a nice story on John Wayne this morning. Hope folks had a chance to see that.

Chris Wallace had a good interview with not only Herman Cain but also Robert Johnson and Fred Smith. Johnson, founder of BET network, was a Clinton supporter and has been a big democrat contributor. Smith, founder of Federal Express is a Republican. They both were concerned about the taxes and regulations that are holding back American industry and Robert Johnson referred to the situation as a political cold war going on. He has been critical of Obama recently and I was particularly intrigued by his final words of the interview. Johnson said there has to be a decision about "which ideology they want". I take that to mean that Johnson is aware that this is a capitalism vs socialism/progressive war and he is definitely a capitalist. Herman Cain, Robert Johnson and Fred Smith each earned their wealth through hard work and investments in American business. All of these men came from modest to middle America backgrounds. All are hard working achievers who do not apologize for their wealth. Johnson was quite articulate on that point. He earned his wealth and expects to make use of it however he wants, luxury included. A good show today for Chris Wallace.

Dick Cheney was asked about this booing incident and once again I must rail against the “voices” of the GOP, always apologetic, always reaching across the aisles with perfectly polished fingernails. As you said John McCain did by just accepted the Lamestream description of the incident.

For those couple of people did NOT boo that soldier, they booed his assertion that the army should continue on this trumped of mission of socialist change by not stopping on the elimination of the DADT.

Cheney DID clarify this when he was grilled; John McCain did not.

This is why we lose....our own side lets them get away with it.

Of course everyone knows that since 1970s’ McCain has been a traitor, selling out his fellow POWs. He got soft treatment due to his father AND grandfather being Admirals [also why he was admitted to Annapolis and aviator school]. He has been a “maverick” (i.e. an insurgent against Republicans) most of his elected life. He loves adoration by media (who wouldn’t? Oh, yea, Darrell Issa, Dennis Kucinich, Dick Cheney). With McCain, as with Dole before him: “It was their turn”. Even though McCain undermined Dubya’s entire presidency. Unforgivable, but, alas, forgiven by the RINOs and the National Republican Committee and Convention. The only thing McCain has EVER done worth a crap (and a lot mor ethan that) is selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate. That was a master stoke. But the moron started apologizing for it immediately. Just makes one sick! He must have picked Sarah just to PO the other contenders, like Romney.

Boy, oh boy! Is Kristol and company in for a major rude awakening. I hope that DH and I are a clear microcosm of center-right America and I’ll say this...there’s no way in hell we’re going to vote for someone just because it’s that person or an Obama second term. I’d rather have an Obama second term with hopefully with a Republican controlled congress than to have to hold my nose and vote for another RINO. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

1918! Exactly why my grandfather Despised Woodrow Wilson! Progressivism was B/S. He was a then CEO at a huge company that brought much prosperity to the US. I never met him, he died before I was born but his conservatism was passed on to my Mom and thus to me!

God Bless you Abba!

“The thought of Americans being seen as simply political assets, gays, blacks Hispanics, enviros, etc.first, instead of what they are, Americans first, is revolting to all of us.”

I believe the theory is “divide and conquer.”

We just watched the season opener of “Homeland” last night and you both may be interested in the series. It's on Showtime so you can expect to deal with some soft porn, but they also dealt with a very serious issue.

The out of control, but patriotically motivated, CIA agent has gotten a tip in Iraq about a captured soldier who had been turned, but she doesn't have a name.

Suddenly our military got another tip about a big fish IslamoPsycho's hide out and they busted it, killing several fanatics but missing the big fish. They also rescued a Marine who had been in confinement for many years...

A big whoop de doo is made of the Marine’s return and politics decree that nothing is done to interfere with the great PR. By the end of the show we see that he is the one and has indeed been turned.

You can guess what my first thought was, especially as the agent's boss, the one guy who finally believes in the agent, first tells her she's wrong because the Marine seems uncomfortable with the PR and would be out there soaking it up in order to promote himself—maybe even run for some office—IF he had actually been turned.

The next morning the Marine calls the press to his doorstep to give them a happy speech and looking like somebody who wants to be a public figure...

GOK what they'll do with this series, but right now it's got me hooked despite the soft core porn. I guess you can figure out why.

PB, take a look at #172: This morning, C. Amanpour tried to play gotcha with Herman Cain, quoting CC saying that the fears Cain and other conservatives have voiced about Sharia Law creeping into our country is “just crazy”. Herman stayed calm and said, “well, then, call me crazy”. LOL, you’ve got your guy.

See that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout!

“Can’t hardly get on Free Republic these days. Bitterness and invective just seep from the screen into my room and make me feel bad.”

I’m sensitive like you, Altura, and am relatively new here (only 3-1/2 years), but we have to develop thicker skin - I agree with RodGuy’s advice.

On another thread I (and another poster) got a reply from
Editor-Surveyor where he said “it’s nice to know that I side with the Lefties” which he somehow decided “from looking at my previous posts”. I have NO idea what he was talking about - but it was a thread on Herman Cain and I am a real HC “cheerleader”. I’ve evidently ticked E-S off a couple of times over who knows what. But “lefty” I’m decidedly NOT!

Still, I know what you mean - it does hurt a little. I’ve always been taught to take responsibility for anything I say or do, but it drives me crazy to be accused of something I’m NOT guilty of, ya know?

Oh well :-)
