Christie apparently has no problem ignoring those who don’t matter in his reach to stabilize NJ.

Can you show me where she said she knew it would be career ending? I’ve read her postings and listed to about 95% of her speeches and interviews and haven’t heard this. Thanks for your help.

So what’s Christie have in common with them that they would be eager to support him?

“But unlike Palin and the Tea Party the New Jersey governor is a political moderate who supports immigration reform and civil unions for gays.”

Game over.

Every time Juan Williams speaks or writes he reminds me of an NPR employee.

If this is a poker game between Sarah and Christie, Sarah is holding 4 aces. Christie is largely unknown outside the NE, except for a few doughnut chains that is.

Palin has 90 percent name recognition in the US. She can afford to wait until the very last moment to announce her nomination.

Disingenuous, much?

Her answer would be: “I stepped down because all the phony lawsuits against me by the likes of precisionshootist (just kidding, insert your own bad guy here), were costing the Alaskan taxpayers millions of dollars in unnecessary legal defense costs, so I stepped down, which was entirely consistent with my political philosophy: the people are more important than the governor.”

Disingenuous? Not sure what you are talking about there.

She would likely end up with a 30 second response something along these lines.

“Well Governor, if lawsuits were hurting the taxpayers of Alaska wasn't it YOUR job as chief executive to fix these problems for the state?. After you resigned how was your successor supposed to deal with these same lawsuits? Looks to me like you stepped down, accepted a job at fox news and left these problems for someone else to deal with.

Christie can hop in if he wants....he will get his head handed to him by the conservative base after his stance on gun control, global warming hoax, etc. becomes well known.

Not so with Sarah she is a real conservative.

That’s right Christie is islam friendly....didn’t he appoint a muslim judge in NJ and had a kissy fit against those who opposed the appointment?

Precision shooter...you need to tweak your aim there. You’re carrying the liberal talking points concerning Gov. Palin.

I saw another poll they were trying to tote how well Cain was doingcompared to Romney and Perry.... but when you read the actual numbers of each candidate Palin was two-three points above Perry, Romney and Cain though they listed her name near the bottom of the pole...

I’m not at all interested in Christie though he seems to be good for NJ at the moment...they needed a hard head to crack the wipe there and I think that’s the attraction he has to those who are looking at him now. But he does not stand for the issues I do...and in fact opposes those I care about such as those you mentioned.

The way Sarah Palin attacked the way Fox and the msm have been skewing her poll numbers tells me she has some polls of her own. Honest ones.

The establishment Republicans are afraid because they KNOW:

That the moderates (read liberals) comprise less than 25% of registered Republicans;

The other 75% of conservative Republicans are for Sarah Palin;

That Independents make up 41% of the voters and are leaning about 60% or more for Sarah Palin;

That the dis-en-french-fried Democrats are lining up for Palin;

That none of the establishment candidates can get or keep traction.

That Sarah Palin is going to announce, the response is going to be overwhelming, their propaganda is going to be fully exposed, and their whole world is going to be shaken to the core.

“BIG problem with her resignation from office.
That's not even an issue now let alone a “problem”....been raked over the coals so many times it's barely ashes on the ground, which will fly away as heels kick up and the race is on. “

It's not an issue now because she's not on the stage as a candidate. Do you think governors like Perry, Romney, etc. are not going to take her to the matt with this? Do you think they will just accept her explanation that issues were just much tougher in Alaska than they are in Texas or Mass. ? As soon as it comes up it will be the issue that won't go away for her.

Lastly, I'm not sure what the deal is with some (way too many for me, frankly) Palin supporters that if you point out a weakness or even hint she won't run the responses are personal attacks. I've stated my opinion that her viability as a candidate ended when she resigned. Since then I've been called Moron, Troll, Idiot, bad guy, and I'm sure we aren't done. Anyone care to explain the childish like responses received from the Palin camp?

Anyway to get back on track with this thread. Juan's' political analysis has left the reservation. I'm sure Christies' sitting around thinking, wow if Palin gets in then THATS IT, I must get in.... If I have any sense of how Chris Christie thinks I would say when it comes to his political career he doesn't give a rats rear end what decision Palin makes. Palin will have no effect on him whatsoever.

Seeing her disposition today, I'd say the grizzley is pawing the dirt.

The way to tell the difference between a black bear and a grizzley is, when one on them starts running after you, you run to a tree and climb up. If it's a black bear, it will climg up after you. If it's a grizzley, you'll never reach the tree.

She has not stated this outright that I’m aware of. No savy politician worth their salt would do that. To clarify what I meant by “listen closely” was essentialy “read between the lines”. Being a smart politician she knows this event is a huge almost insurmountable problem. In public office you can’t step down from an executive position then do a 180 and try to convince voters “this time you’re serious”. It just doesn’t work. Try to think of examples of politcians that have resigned from an executive office to return later and get elected again in any capacity. Off the top of my head I can’t think of any, there are probably a few but not many.
