Their tv commercials say they’re self-sustaining and not part of government.
Then they have their same people say in Congress doesn’t save them they’re toast.
This is the kind of agency we’re dealing with here.
Is every freaking government agency just a bunch of lying shell-gamers? Damn.
Cut salaries and benefits.
Problem solved.
I don’t know if the timing is deliberate, or just an unhappy accident, but it looks like they are trying to shut down just before Christmas. I can see packages being sent by UPS or FedEX, but people still send greeting cards through the Postal service. Also , overseas and APO/FPO deliveries also depend on the Post Office. It is as if this shutdown was designed to cause as much inconvenience as possible.
"Write About What You Know," as they say.
And it will shut down unless those mean wascally wepublicans approve another stimulus...
USPS is needed. Many USPS workers and management are not. We have a great post office in our town, friendly, too. GO to Denver and 90% of the workers seem to be foreigners.
Yup, it’s the unions again. They must be so proud. They’ve run yet another business into the ground.
Stopping Sat delivery is okay by me.
Closing post office is okay also. I live not too far from 2 tiny towns, with each having their own post office, definitely less than a mile apart and located on the same highway, with only one stoplight between the two. Has always seemed to me to be a real waste of money.
That can’t be. My stamps say Forever on them. /s
To put this in perspective, UPS workers belong to the Teamsters Union.
take the rest of the federal gub mint to hell with ya.
AH HAA HAA HAAAAA, YO HO HO, Laughing So Hard I am Spitting. First the PO forces out every clerk employee they can, then they agree with the union to bump up all remaining Level Five Clerks to Level Six with raised salaries of course. So many friggin rotten deals and now the PMG Postmaster General is trying to shake down Congress, also trying to hurt the very people they forced out by telling Congress they cannot afford to fund their retirees while the SOBs continue to award themselves big bonuses. SICK, SICK.
I would be happy to get mail delivered to my house ONCE per week
In my youth I saw twice daily deliveries to homes. The letter carriers rode public transportation. They picked up their mail in drop boxes placed at intervals throughout the city. These boxes also served as mail boxes where residents could post letters.
Now I see the jeeps drive house to house making deliveries. Perhaps a return to the earlier plan would reduce costs. It would reduce the motor pool for sure.
USPS is ran as a job mill not a business.
They can start by firing everybody except one or two at our post office. Replace them with the next 10 people who walk down the street. They could not possibly be worse.
