If I had a bunch of money I would create my own Weather Channel and kick the sorry NBC inspired “Drama Channel” off the air in 6 months.

Agree it’s too early to predict landfall. Rodguy and I were discussing this storm system is quite large (TS winds currently extend 150 miles from center). Will continue to watch closely.

I would be glad to donate a few thousand dollars and personally drag Al Roker out of the building. They really ruined a very valuable channel.

I told Comcast the main reason I didn’t want their services in the new house is because of the Weather Channel mess.

I’m flying into Orlando for a Convention on Tuesday and leaving Satruday morning... I guess I should bring a raincoat? I’m coming from Colorado and have never experienced a tropical storm or huricane. I guess it should be an exciting week.....:)

Way too early to tell whether Orlando will ultimately be in Irene's path. Hope you have marvelous weather and lots of fun in Orlando.

A couple of gentle suggestions--If Irene's forecast continues to look ominous for Orlando Wednesday, stock up on some extra non-perishable snacks and water in your hotel room. Hotel upper floors mean lots of stairs if the lights go out and the elevators don't work, and wind speed is higher with increased altitude.

Exactly, its become the Drama channel all the time. Evidently NBC will do anything for a buck even depriving people of a once valuable resource.

Some of mine are dying, but they have fewer leaves to catch the wind. Sort of a tradeoff.

Worst tree loss I’ve ever seen came after a real wet spring and summer. Neighbor lost all but one of their big trees, took out the power but missed the house. Then a front came in and took out the last one. That one punched an eight inch limb through the roof.
