“His failure to gather 400 valid signatures was sheer over-confidence and laziness. “
Which makes him a good candidate how? People who fail on the small stage don’t suddenly become successful on the bigger stage, they tend to fail even more spectacularly.
What you smell is the City of Kenosha, a reliably RAT cesspool. The AP results are just reporting behind the County results.
The RAT is going to win, and win big because of the RAT voters in that city.
The GOP blew the race in the 12th. Sheer incompetence.
At least that's something to be grateful for.
Damn.. turns out neither of these is even going to be close.. too bad..
The AP finally caught up with the County results. There aren’t any GOP area’s left. Everything outstanding is in the more RAT areas of Kenosha county. This is over.
Wow. This sucks.
70% reporting in District 22. This does not look good.
RESULTS as of Tuesday, Aug 16, 2011 at 09:19 pm CDT
Election Home
Senate Dist. 22 Recall REPORTING 70%
Bob Wirch (D) (inc) 18,017
56%
Jonathan Steitz (R) 14,340
44%
That’s what you get when you run candidates who don’t fit the district.
I can’r watch anymore. Talk about a let down...
Nygren was an incumbent member of the assembly. He gathered about 420 signatures, but 22 were thrown out, leaving him with 398. It was a stupid mistake. In a normal election, it would have been enough, but he should have known that the rats would challenge every name on the nomination petitions.
David VanderLeest, the Republican who faced Hansen had many personal issues that pretty much disqualified him from office, including unpaid taxes, domestic violence and questions about serious drug use.
Langlade, Lincoln, and Vilas counties have yet to report any precincts in Simac’s race and they are the bulk of what’s left. Let’s hope they are wildly GOP.
How so? Just curious?
I wonder if re-districting will do anything to those districts? In the Alberta Darling/Sandy Pasch race, Sandy Pasch will be districted out of Alberta’s District. So, had Pasch won, she would have had to move to retain control of that district. Alberta would have run again in the next election.
Im wondering if the re-districting will do anything to firm up these districts for the Gop.
I wondered about the vague appeals for Simac cash that went out nationally from another WI senator on her behalf. That sheds some light.
From Facebook:
MacIver Institute
It is all but certain that the current 17-16 GOP majority in the Wis State Senate will remain unchanged as both Dem Senators likely victorious tonight by large margins.

Yes. Redistricting will help A LOT.
See post 251.
“I smell something”
Barney Franks (D-Fart) strikes again?
