Is “Fast and Furious” the new name for the program called “Gunwalker”?

"Fast and Furious" was the official name given to the operation Ny ATF/DOJ. "Gunwalker" was a name given to it by frustrated field agents and was never, in any way, official...

IIRC, the terms are NOT interchangeable. Project Gunwalker preceded Fast and Furious and was started by the Bush administration. Under Gunwalker, the straw buyers were followed and the weapons then seized when they were resold. Under F&F there was no attempt to seize the weapons, the straw buyers were simply tracked, then the weapons allowed to continue on their way. Someone please correct me if this is not accurate.

Ok, here's your correction... The Bush Administration program was "Gunrunner", not "Gunwalker". As you said, the guns were never allowed to leave the country, and the straw purchasers were arrested.

"Fast and Furious" was a program initiated by the Obama administration, obstensively as part of "Gunrunner, but the tactics were quite different. Instead of seizing the guns, and arresting the purchasers before they got to Mexico, the field agents were told by higher ups to allow the guns to "walk", or to enter Mexico. This made no logical sense to the agents in the field, so they took to calling it "Gunwalker", in protest...

>We should remember that Fast and Furious may be only one part of “Gunwalker”. Fast and Furious involved the ATF in Phoenix.

We know that at least one gun store in Texas was directed to sell guns to straw buyers that they believed were “walking” guns to Mexico.

We may be seeing just the tip of the iceberg.<

No, I think this was one operation that was being handled by the one District Court. It all would have gone back to the same office.

Another operation is now coming to light, in Tampa, with the guns going to MS-13 types in Honduras. This may be bigger than you think...

I wonder how the Clinton's will work this scandal into more power over Obama

Probably won't have anything to do with a HILLARY! presidential run, though.
