At the time of the incident, the bodyguards probably did not know he was a West Point cadet.

Realistically, the reason for the beating is probably that the thugs felt "disrespected" by the guy for whatever reason.

My bad, Papa. Yes, you’re right.

Years before 9-11 young thugs were tailing people out of rental car agencies at BWI airport for the purposes of staging a stick-up. The reason was simply that they knew the chances of getting a gun shoved in their face was just about as close to zero as you could reasonably expect.

BTW, they’d create a fender-bender situation before the expressways to get you out of the car, then relieve you of your possessions. Then they were gone up the next on-ramp.

Of course, THEY were armed!

WP blew this big time. They discharged a cadet for no reason and without any due process involved. The PCA, Politically Correct Army. Nothing honorable about it.

Unless this gives the Cadet time to heal, pursue his claim in court and regain his strength for any residual physical harm, I would tend to be very disappointed. Having said that, I do not see how he can pursue his academics with that kind of injury and the trial will take a great deal of time. Leave of absence is how I will view it. I hope someone in Houston will keep track of this, as without Drudge, I sure wouldn't have heard. Local FReepers need to keep a watch.
