Also what I noticed this time that it is very clear that the SWAT members were surprised by the man inside with the gun. You can clearly see them react with surprise when they started shooting.
That would not be the case if SWAT arrived to “cold blooded murder” this man, as you put it.

That siren was not blaring, there were not readily identifiable police cars out front, they did not give the man an adequate time to come o the door to seewhat was going on, etc.
They were no different than the raid that killed bin laden. It was an execution plain and simple.
The siren did blare. And for much longer than the 2 seconds you first claimed. The man evidently had adequate time to grab a gun and station himself in the hall. I am not sure what the van looked like but evidently you do.
If the video showed an execution as you claim then there would be arrests because of this video.

This sheriff’s department had multiple contacts with Loughner regarding death-threats he (Loughner) had made to people. Dupnick’s lack of ANY effective action to head off the madman DIRECTLY facilitated his killing spree. His “Quick, look over there!” misdirection blaming of Rush, Palin, Hannity, et. al is simply Dumprik trying to avoid responsibility for his own inaction.

You can build a gun that’s pretty darned close to an AR-15 if not the real thing, as my husband has done just that.
I don’t know what happened here but my easy going, gun loving husband would definitely grab the EBG (Evil Black Gun) that lives under his side of the bed and protect his home and wife at the sounds of an intrusion.
They were not using police tactics, but were instead employing military MOUT house clearing tactics. They didn’t appear to be well organized to act discerning the rights nor proper authority, but had full intention of overpowering anybody in their view.
Again - lets say he did and was involved in drugs, ok - is that now a crime punishabe by death by a execution squad?

It looked to me as though all the equipment was simply made available to some fresh hires, who probably had never been through a Police Acadamy. They appear to have had some training in a military MOUT facility using some room clearing techniques, but had no inkling on how to employ operational planning or intelligence in their raid.
They didn’t believe they were going in against a heavily armed threat as their behavior manifests they simply thought they could pound in the door and advance more quickly than isolated opposition.
It speaks volumes against not just this team, but much more importantly, an incredibly irresponsible chain of command above them, giving them even an inkling of notion they would have the authority to operate in this fashion.
IMHO, those 2-3 steps up their chain of command is where criminal behavior is manifest by their actions.
Their behavior tells me they had been inadequately trained, inadequately planned, inadequate intel, lack of rules of engagement, grossly irresponsible with criminal intent.

I concur on the Military tribunal approach. Police fail to realize that when they act like thugs, or trained paramilitary, (which they are not), they lose the respect of the law abiding population, while simultaneously demonstrating to hardened criminals that when confronted by an officer of the law, they need to immediately take them out by any means necessary. Note the number of cops killed this year alone.

There used to be degrees of escalation by law enforcement — Now you’re just dead, while they attempt to explain it away somehow.

At this point, I don’t care if the ex-Marine was a guilty as could be. The police work sucked, and the shooting was incompetence.
Rather than spend all the money on the SWAT team, why not just have unmarked cars watching, and a black & white show up when the guy is returning from work?
This seems to me to be one of those increasing cases of using a SWAT team instead of good cops because SWAT exists and you can’t fund what you don’t use...so you use them.
Here is a true story of the Old West:
Wyatt Earp, now getting old, was hired to handle a mob at a bank. There was a run on the bank, and the mob was getting ugly. The bank hoped Earp’s reputation would frighten the mob.
Instead, Earp took a wagon, loaded some boxes with scrap iron, and then used his gun to ‘escort’ the payment to the bank. Since the bank had obviously just received money, and had hired Wyatt Earp to protect the delivery, the mob dispersed - content their money was safe.
THAT is a good lawman.

Nope. MOUT training does NOT teach you to group up at the door...I’d have more respect for these guys if they HAD shown signs of MOUT training.

I would have far more respect for Barney Fife walking up with a warrant in-hand saying, “Sorry to intrude on your day, but I have this here warrant that allows me to enter your home to look for whaky tobacky.”
Sadly, few in today’s law enforcement have that kind of courage or respect for their fellow citizens.
