#193, that's a mighty fine graphic, Art. Captures the moment that will exist before next November's election.

With Al Bama, now I know why it's called NOvember!

This is precisely why Sarah Palin will win the nomination and ultimately the Presidency. There are still more of us than them.

The "them" you speak of have failed to grasp what it means to be an American, the freedom that comes with it, and the laws instituted to protect said freedom.

The individual is the 'unit' of freedom that must be protected at all cost and yet, hasn't been due to concerns 'for the many'.

"With liberty, and justice, for all" is the standard we must strive to achieve without special consideration for women, blacks, latinos, etc. If we protect the individual's rights, everyone's are protected. If we single-out groups for special treatment, others are denied.

A significant part of this country's ills stem from this type of thinking. Separated by race, by gender, by income, we've balkanized ourselves into something certainly non-American. The left has capitalized on this technique. Our courts re-inforce it (wise Latina?) by affirming actions to up-lift minorities over others in education and employment.

To be American is to be fair to everyone. To be a leftist American is to be fairer to some group or another. That is the "them" that you speak of and hopefully, they'll not be able to defeat Sarah in this next go-around (should she decide to run).

I'm not proud to count "them" as my 'brother', anymore than I would those who'd willingly seek to burn my house down. This country's foundation on the principle that all are created equal ought not be attacked similarly. Those that do are arsonists- social and political arsonists in my mind. They not only tear at the fabric of America, they set fire to it and have done so for many years.

The "them" you speak of are free to be themselves. Such is the nature of freedom. However, it comes at a cost to the rest of us. But, I don't know if I can afford it any longer. I'm spent, tapped-out, and just wish it weren't another expense I have to incur.

Memorial Day weekend is busy for me, but I confess, each time I see Air Force jets perform the Missing Man formation I well-up with emotion and fight back tears. My dad (West Point grad, B-17 squadron commander) comes to mind each time, as well as all of those who fought for and died for this country. We owe it to them to 'unite', to put that missing-man back into formation and push ourselves toward a prosperity and freedom that those who made the biggest sacrifice would be proud.

My prayer would be, that those on the Left and their interest groups might someday become assimilated- to honor that which gives them the freedom to dissent, but ask only that, at the end of the day, they remain American. Nothing more, nothing less. If we share a fox-hole, then let's share it with pride. Our pride in being American and our pride in being free. There are a lot of forces gunning for us and coming from every direction. I'll have your back if you'll have mine. Fair?

The 'left' will never assimilate. What our culture has been turned into is precisely what they intended to do all along. And because they want to rule us it has been necessary to create divisions within our society; it has generally worked because while they were dividing, they were using guilt to advance their agenda. None of the laws were intended to be fair or to equalize the field. They were passed in order to increase control.

I believe people are waking up more and more. And Palin (if she should run) is going to be the true uniter of 'all'.

The left and the elitists from the Republican party do not want anything to change because their goals are the same.

Like you, I do not consider the 'left' or anyone who subscribes to that philosphy to be my brother or even my fellow american. They are enemies and they declared war on this nation when Obama was elected. However, there are many that regret that (so I've read) and even if there is a third that regrets the decision, and votes the right way, we will once again have a free nation. It will take a long time to undo what's been done, but if we have liberty, anything can be achieved.

If not for my faith in God, I couldn't handle anything. It's difficult enough as a believer but I can't imagine trying to go through these days without knowing His hand is in all things.

I also become very emotional when I see those things you spoke about and when I hear the National Anthem and so forth. America, our beloved nation, has been under siege for a very long time but there is still hope as long as you, and I and millions of others are still breathing.

Enjoy your weekend.

RE: “The liberals will hyperventilate about Sarah Palin and her bus tour.”

*************

Agree, even if Sarah Palin does NOT get into the race it will drive the left insane to have here out there on the open road with her bus. There are so many contenders in our camp, some in, some out, some not yet announced one way or the other. Then there’s the Donald, possibly back IN?

What’s a leftist to think? How do they go after and try to dish dirt on so many at once??? I LOVE it!

RE: “Palin/Ryan 2012

I think this bus tour is a test — not a full campaign yet. She is going to see if she can change the poll numbers by focusing more national attention on her candidacy. If the poll numbers move into winning territory, she will run. If not, she will have focused the primaries to a few candidates and will support one that closely matches her positions. If that person runs, she will take on a cabinet role, probably in Energy or Commerce.

She cannot afford to lose twice.”

Best post of ‘em all -— right on the money — this is a ‘test.’ I don’t think even Palin herself knows if she is going to run or not. Patience, folks, patience -——

I know a Paulista:he goes NUTS at the mention of Sarah Palin.I mean absolutely nuts, ranting about pigs and lipstick, etc. And he calls himself conservative.I’ve found a lot of people say they are conservative but just want government programs for their group instead of the current beneficiaries.
