Yes, I have always had a lot of respect for Brit. He is very intelligent.
What I was trying to infer was that many of us now on Medicare were perfectly happy without it. We paid for insurance and were satisfied with it.
Medicare shoulkd not have been meant for those who already had insurance, it should have been for those who actually needed it.IMO Medicare was set up to save the insurance companies from having to pay out large dollars to insure older people who had been paying for insurance for years, it got insurance companies off the hook.The insurance lobby got it passed, I now still pay BC& BS, plus I get to pay for Medicare that I didn’t ask for.
settle down: just repeating a rumor that flew around for a while in jest - since Brit is not running for anything.
I am a big Brit Hume fan and have been for years. My favorite moment in broadcasting is when Brit cocks his head and starts out by saying “now wait a minute Juan.....”
Brit has made the 6:42 to 6:58 time slot (Eastern) the most important 16 minutes in news since he’s been at Fox.

I’m not wild about Ryan’s plan either but I was really suprised to hear Newt come out for the individual mandate. I thought he had heard that 26 states are suing the Federal Govt for unconstitutionality. Maybe Newt wants out and decided this would get him out early. Its definitely going to.

There were rumors, none proven, that Brit Hume and Megan Kendall were having an affair. This was said to have been started by Paul Schur after he was let go by fox News.

Upon what do you base this assumption that there was an adulterous affair? I read the interview with Megyn where it was discussed and she recounted how it came up at a staff meeting that there were these rumors out there and they needed to be quashed. And Brit’s response was, do we have to quash them right away? LOL! the point being he was flattered that anyone would spread a rumor that they were an item. Brit does not have a Callista problem. Newt’s baggage, however, could sink a battle ship, there’s certainly enough of it!
You are right, and I was just making a flip comment to another poster who said he “loved Brit.” I figured the rumor was so well known and also so discredited that everyone would see the joke. Sorry for the ruffled feathers. That was not my intention.
Rush is saying it is obvious that Newt has found his niche and many in politics do. The niche is “Everyone else is radical and I am not.” It is very calculating but also tone deaf politically. Rush said what Ryan is doing is not social engineering. Rush said “I know about niching and do not doubt me. That is what Newt is doing.”
