I’m also uncomfortable with this killing, although in my mind he deserved to die. I’m wondering if it’s right to instruct military personnel to kill someone - actually an assassination in this case, when it appears that it was possible to take that person into custody.
I suppose that since to was a very close range assassination that was authorized by Obama, it’s OK. But, would it have been viewed OK if Bush had done the same thing in the same way? The whole episode is troubling.
Arms can take many forms. In OBL's case, he was armed with tens of thousands of followers, cells around the globe, that would kill at command from him.
He was the trigger to al qaida's gun barrel.
Maybe this should refresh the Archbishop of Cantabury’s memory:
“Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Pope Benedict XVI, from the Byzantine emperor, Manuel II Paleologus, September of 2006 in Germany.
All these stories to cover up for the fact that this didn’t go as planned.
The SOF was supposed to capture Bin Laden and bring him back.
BUT... his dedicated ‘guards’ were sworn to kill OBL is he was about to be captured. So they did.
This messed up the WH/Pentagon’s plans, so they had to start making up excuses and stories to cover while they decided what best to do.
THAT is why there was a ‘blackout’ of the SOF video feed.
THAT is why there was such confusion, and multiple conflicting stories.
With all due respect, you weren't there and you don't really know what happened. The final judgment is in the hand of God, not you. In the big scheme of things the SEALS may of been the hand of God...I don't know and neither do you.
Just remember one thing, When the Romans came for Jesus, Peter was armed and cut off the ear of the high priest's servant. Jesus told him to put it away...He knew there was a time and place for all battles and his was a spiritual one, not one on earth.
This is is becoming a Spiritual war and we must never show weakness to evil or it will consume us.
Now, how 'bout you come back to a little thing we call REALITY and "administering justice?"
He needs to seek salvation by calling on His NAME. Needs to seek the face of YHvH in His Holy Word.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
Well, he should have armed himself. Esp if he decides to kill 3000 Innocent Americans thru cowardly means.
If you are in a fair fight, then you are doing it wrong.
Should the SEALS waited for him to find a rifle before them blew him to allah?
>>>The spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion admitted on Thursday that he felt very uncomfortable with the killing of Osama bin Laden when he was unarmed.<<<
Was he also ‘very uncomfortable’ when the Twin Towers went down? Or the Pentagon hit? Or the plane hitting the ground in PA??? Many of those people murdered 9/11 were unarmed...
The spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion ought to wait until all the facts are collected and reported before making statements, IMO. We do not know the circumstances of the demise of Osama, so stop speculating. Osama had weapons on the grounds of his compound; he may have been prepared to blow up the entire facility if given the chance. We just do not know at this time exactly what went down. Osama was capable of just about anything; we know that he liked to kill innocent people and would have liked to kill more and more.
I would advise the spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion to quietly gather facts, then make a statement.
The quick and the dead.
I wish he would do something about the condition of his church instead of whinging over something about which he knows nothing and has no control.
That said he’s a dolt.
I can say this I’m Anglican.
He is competing with Rowan Atkinson.
