Rumsfeld Urges White House to Keep Lid on Bin Laden Intel
fox ^ | 5/8/11 | staff

Posted on Sunday, May 08, 2011 2:49:07 PM by Nachum

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Sunday questioned why the Obama administration is releasing so much information about the operation that resulted in the death of Usama bin Laden and the intelligence behind it.

While Rumsfeld praised President Obama for overseeing and green-lighting the daring raid last weekend, he suggested the White House could be taking a risk in sharing the details it has with the public.

“The more information that goes out about intelligence, the greater the risks to our people and the less likelihood we’re going to be able to capture and/or kill some of the people who would result from the intelligence take here,” Rumsfeld said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”............***

Mexican Border Crime Underreported
Judicial Watch ^ | May 9, 2011

The Obama Administration is deceiving Americans by underreporting serious crime along the Mexican border, according to the Texas lawmaker who chairs a congressional Homeland Security committee.

Federal, state and local law enforcement officials who deal firsthand with violent Mexican drug cartels will deliver testimony to prove it at a special committee hearing this week titled “On the Border and in the Line of Fire: U.S. Law Enforcement, Homeland Security and Drug Cartel Violence.”

Authorities at every level will tell the “real story” of how they are “outmanned, overpowered and in danger of losing control” of communities to “narco-terrorists,” says Michael McCaul, the Texas congressman who chairs the House Committee on Homeland Security. The lawmaker asserts that the Obama Administration “is not giving the American people a complete picture of security on our border with Mexico” and that data on crimes and violence along the southern border is “deceiving and underreported.”

Among those scheduled to speak at Wednesday’s hearing in WashingtonD.C. are the director of the Department of Homeland Security’s counter narcotics enforcement office, the head of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Arizona’s attorney general and the sheriff of Zapata County Texas.

Their testimony will contradict Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s claim that security along the Mexican border is “better now than it has ever been,” McCaul says.

[snip]

In a separate but related story on the administration’s handling of border security, Arizona lawmakers are seeking online donations to build fencing along the border with Mexico since the federal government won’t do it. The plan includes using prison labor and launching a website to help raise money for the project. The state is already using donated funds to defend its immigration control law from the Obama Administration’s legal challenges.

Gunmen dump beheaded bodies outside school in Mexico
Reuters ^ | Mon May 9, 2011 3:05pm EDT | Pedro Galindo

Durango, Mexico (Reuters) - Suspected drug hitmen dumped six headless bodies outside a school in northern Mexico Monday a day after forensics pulled victims out of a nearby mass grave in a stream of unrelenting violence that is pressuring Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Assailants left the bloodied, beheaded men outside the secondary school in the colonial city of Durango just before dawn and sprayed threatening messages on a nearby wall, hours before students were due to put on a show to celebrate Mother’s Day, Durango state attorney general’s office said.

[snip]

More than 38,000 people have died in drug violence across Mexico since Calderon sent the army to fight the cartels on taking office in late 2006, shocking Mexicans, testing bilateral ties with Washington and damaging Mexico’s reputation abroad as a destination for tourists and foreign investment.

Egypt riots raise worries over Islamic hard-liners

By LEE KEATH, Associated Press Lee Keath, Associated Press – Mon May 9, 4:37 pm ET

CAIRO – Deadly Muslim-Christian riots that left 12 dead and a Cairo church a burned-out husk have magnified worries in Egypt over Islamic ultraconservatives who have grown more assertive since the fall of President Hosni Mubarak. Egypt’s military rulers are stumbling over how to deal with them, reluctant to crack down and spark a backlash.

[snip]

Most worrying for Christians and many Muslims is the increasing boldness of the Salafi movement.

Salafism is a hard-line movement preaching a strict version of Islamic Shariah law, shunning anything they see as an “innovation” in the religion.

What a brilliant post.

Your take on Egypt is especially profound and sort of lays ground work for what could happen in a number of mid-East N.African states in the future.

He has a personal “thing” against the Seals. THAT’S WHY!

He has a personal thing against EACH of our intelligence units, from regular law enforcement up to and through FBI, CIA and Seals. It wasn't that long ago Pelosi was telling the nation the CIA were liars and she never heard a thing about waterboarding. Today's Democrats are disgusting and as anti-American as a political party could ever be. They are certainly not the democrats of long ago in the nicest way they could be.

A coward's guide to Yemen

In the lounge of Fahia's home in a fortified mountain village outside Yemen's capital, the topic turned to that emblem of the Middle East: the AK47 Kalashnikov assault rifle.

"So Fahia, how many Kalashnikovs are in this house?" I asked.

"Eighteen," he replied, using the same tone of voice that someone in the West might use to describe how many television sets they own.

To: MamaDearest; All
I asked the question much earlier today, "Has obama even acknowledged the victims of the Mississipi flooding?"
I have now received my answer. I am....not surprised.

What? Not Even a Look Out the Window?

President Obama doesn’t seem to have even peered out his Air Force One window to view the swelling Mississippi, a minimal show of interest for which George W. Bush was pilloried when he took a peak at the damage wrought by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. At least Bush bothered to look.

Obama is traveling today OVER the devastation being wrought by the Mississippi in order to get to events in Texas, where he will rally his Hispanic supporters with a speech on immigration in El Paso and then head to the Lone Star state’s liberal bastion of Austin for two fundraisers.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, who spoke with reporters aboard Air Force One, was asked whether Obama had bothered to get a view from above.

“I haven’t seen him do that but I haven’t been with him for the full flight so far,” Carney said.

Well, it certainly doesn’t sound like they were on the lookout for it, and it’s clear the plane is not intentionally headed over a particularly devastated area for a look-see.

Obama’s hopscotch over the Mississippi flooding is emblematic of his disaster no-show policy.

He’s currently getting slammed for visiting wildfire-plagued Texas for political purposes while refusing to grant the state disaster declaration status, which would free up federal aid. Reporters on Air Force One could see smoke rising as the plane headed into El Paso.

While he spent a brief time on the ground in Alabama after tornadoes ripped through the state late last month, he failed to even issue a public statement about tornadoes that killed dozens a few days earlier in North Carolina and the surrounding states.

Of course, the mother of all Obama disaster AWOL events was his slow and awkward response to the Gulf oil spill crisis a year ago.

Bush was criticized for waiting more than a day after Katrina struck New Orleans to return to Washington from his vacation in Texas. Instead of landing in the area, he looked out from Air Force One at the devastation in a move that was meant to show his interest, but which backfired and was used against him by those who claimed he hardly cared.

Obama’s hopscotch over the Mississippi flooding is emblematic of his disaster no-show policy.

For Obama it's donors, dinners and dazzling dumb democrats with debauchery, decadence, deceit and deception. FEMA refuses to help Texas with their wildfire damage, nor flood assistance to Oklahoma nor Tennessee. Must not be enough of his donors or "people" there to make him give a ......... Hope these states and fire and flood victims remember Obama and democrats in 2012 (sarcasm).

Threats against America? What group comprises recent "immigrants (some of which were later killed or captured fighting jihad)?"

Somali Al shabaab is to avenge for Bin Laden's death

The administration of Al shabaab in Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia on Tuesday vowed that they will launch reprisal attacks in retaliation for the demise of Osama Bin Laden, the founder and the leader of Al Qaeda.

America's newest terrorist threat: Officials eye Somali extremist group Al-Shabaab

America's top counterterror officials for the first time warned Thursday that they expect a Somali extremist group to emerge as a major new threat to the U.S. homeland.

Militant Islamic groups can be found in the United States and have cells in many American cities. Steve Emerson has provided a map that locates key groups in the U.S. since 9/11.

Sources confirm Ohio Al-Shabaab jihadist killed in Somalia

Earlier this month ABC News reported that an American man had been killed in Somalia in a gun battle in Mogadishu — identifying him as Dahir Gurey Sheikh Ali Guled — while serving as a commander for the al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Shabaab Somali terrorist group.

The following day, Somali Minister of Information Abrahman Omar Osman confirmed that Gurey had been killed, that he had entered the country to fight with Al-Shabaab earlier this year, and that documents identifying him as an American citizen had been recovered.
