I voted GOP in 2008 ONLY because Sarah was on the ticket, I have supported her PAC financially ever since,

Same here.

but I WILL NOT hold her up on a pedestal.

Me either. Matter of fact, when she decided to endorse and campaign for McCain's re-election, I tore her calendar off the wall and threw it in the trash. With all that said...

Run Sarah, RUN!

Great minds think alike, except I nearly threw her book in the burn barrel. I do hope she gets into the race and it looks like she is making the changes to do that with a little prod from her friendly, not-drunk-on-koolaide supporters who questioned some of her decisions regarding personnel.

BRO? I am nobody’s bro, but I do have one. I also am a veteran business person of 30 yrs who knows better than to put a fox in the hen house. If I did what Sarah did when she placed a McCain crony on her staff, well, it would have been the equivalent of me hiring the competitor's dispatcher to load my trucks, at the same time as his, in the best interest of my company & not that of the competitor’s company.

Personally, I think you are off base thinking that Sarah is naive. She is one of the most astute politicians I’ve ever seen. She is a natural (I hate to say it, but sort of like Bill Clinton). She will make mistakes no doubt, but they won’t be because she is naive. She makes up for faux pas with pure guts. Who else would waltz into a MSNBC party and ask Rachael Maddow, “can you get me a diet coke?”

I never said Sarah was “naive”, I said she was “politically naive”. Even Reagan made a few political rookie mistakes & learned from them. It now seems Sarah has done the same. We learn from our mistakes. That is what builds character & I applaud her for learning from her rookie mistake and taking charge to correct it.

I'm not convinced that Ben Laden’s being there wasn't a Cooperative effort between the Us and Pakistan. Were the high walls, guarded from within and without...to keep him IN isolation as a prison, and that with the purpose of not announcing his capture because doing so would create all sorts of other issues besides that of fighting the war??? Especially now that these wars are fading out...perfect time to orchestrate his capture or death.

There are so many things we are not aware of concerning this whole issue of Ben Laden since we first went to war. And a host of disinformation has abounded for years. Additionally all the back room deals stuck which allowed the US to continue fighting without further causing more issues which may or may not have occurred if revealed Ben-laden was a prisoner.

Further Ben-Laden has been only the figure head which united terrorists...Al Sawarari is the brains of all the attacks...he simply needed Ben-ladens money. The two would not have been successful with their agendas apart from each other. And those agendas are Sawarri’s from the get go...Osama was primed by the Muslim Brotherhood...so these two were a match.

Al Zawarri is the one we want...Be Laden was simply the “Religious” and “Financial” means for Al Zawarri.

So I could see Pakistan striking a deal they'd keep Ben Laden under protective custody, so to speak...and let him communicate as he would ...in order to know what they were up to... and might be why we have been able to stop any further catastrophes in our country since 9/11.

No secret we all like and admire Palin...but I will say she is not as tight as she needs to be when face to face with those who can and do put her on the spot...and I don’t mean she can’t fire off some comebacks...rather she needs solid answers on where she stands when she is put on the spot...and be comfortable with them. Her defenses still remain edgy, when on the spot, and it comes thru with her responses as defensive.

Sarah’s walking into the Correspondence Dinner was great training ground for her.....she missed a beat on entry when the reporter asked her about Trump. Saying he’s our “Buddie” wasn’t exactly a great response and you could see she wasn’t ready for that question.

If OBL was being held in a house arrest situation, then they could monitor everything he was doing. I am sure that Osama was smart enough to realize this and would react to the situation and let everyone know that he was being held on ice. You would think that detail would be hard to keep quiet. If Osama’s network knew that he was being held, there would have been attempts to get him out of there. I am sure the neighborhood would have noticed a few disturbances going on in the compound.

I suspect that Osama had unlimited access to Pakistan and other countries like Iran. I heard murmers that he was in Iran. The compound was a central operations center fully coordinated with the Pakistan government.

I think we should not be distracted by all the other scenarios and look at this as a simple situation. OBL was furthering Pakistan's mission with the network he was able to provide.

You are correct about the OBL’s money that was being generated. Some of that money was probably coming out of the mosques from inside the western countries. This is money that went to the cause; using the Osama brand as a draw. I am sure it was a huge draw. I think Pakistan was aiding and abetting Osama for the “rent money.”

Probably so....Osama wasn't the brightest bulb of the lot. He may just have wanted and been satisfied to remain in their custody and have some resemblance of a family life...such as Muslims have. He'd been on the run for four years by then...especially if he did have serious health issues which many seemed to think. The one photo of the mansion showed a ledge with several medications on it. And there was hospital nearby for any treatments he may have needed.

But it would be interesting to see his face, even if bloody etc. Some might be able to determine if he was ill. Some of the last shots of him he looked pretty weak.

There was an interview with the Ambassador of Pakistan and the host asked him about the Billions sent in relation to the suspicion they were helping Osama. I was stunned he went into this rant about how it's the USA's fault the circumstances in Afghanistan, and with the Taliban, are such as they are..and war ensued. That this money is just the price of warfare to retain their help....which sounded like blackmail to me!

Oh, so telling the truth in a debate forum for all conservatives is now considered annoying? I feel sorry for you...that you have such a narrow minded mind that doesn’t allow for honest debate that doesn’t kowtow to your point of view.

>> “I think a first examination is our aid to Pakistan. Why should America be going into debt financing a country who cannot even control who is living in a fortified compound basically across the street from a local police station?” <<

.
True.

Pakistan is a repeat of our foolish venture into the Balkans in the ‘90s. We were helping the wrong side there, and this looks like ‘Deja vu all over again.’

I think that you and I have similar positions on the Trumpet, but our position is not necessarily the best choice for a candidate that has focused on party unity for the last two years.
