Do they call cell phones yet? We rarely even answer our home phone. People who call on it are usually doctor appt reminders or salesmen. We would never be available for these important Rasmussen calls. :)
It isn’t just Obama who’s thrown them under the bus. Liberals for as long as I can remember have done so, under the guise of “helping.” Welfare can be of real help for a short time—after that, it’s just another kind of prison.
If you go to the linked article and scroll down there’s another link to a poll of other candidates as of 4/12/11. It shows Huckabee then tied w/Obama, and Mitt Romney not far behind.
If I were The Donald, I’d be pretty pleased that I can get 34% when I was on NO ONE’s radar 3 weeks ago.
Time will tell how it all goes. Until potential candidates declare it’s all rather meaningless other than showing whre the incumbent is and he can’t rise above 50% vs any of them.
The dirty little secret here is that this was not a two-answer question. It was:
Obama
Trump
Someone Else
Undecided
Trump + Someone Else + Undecided = 51%
Was “someone else” described as being 3rd party, or did people assume another GOP candidate, which wouldn’t be representative of a real General Election.
My guess is that is why the GOP numbers were lower than expected. The wording says that 65% would prefer Trump over Obama, but does not say that they would vote Obama instead. The other 35% could be in the “someone else” column, but they make you assume they would vote Obama.
Looks deceptive to me.
Unfortuantely, I think you are right.
There is a significant number of minority voters or individuals who identify themselves as minority voters who consider Obama “one of their own” and would vote for him if he turned out to be a child-molester, a NAZI and a cannibal all rolled up into one.
Its pathetic.
That this piece of horse dung who has drawn America into the social, political, economic and foreign policy sewer he has still can garner 49% support.
Ameica appears to be on the way out.
Considering Trump has been a potential candidate for only 3 weeks...these are not bad numbers
The Obama Supporters are looking for any reason to go after Trump now. Instead of Supporting Obama....they should concentrate their energies on getting Obama’s Long Form Birth Certificate.
If you are not a Birther....you are an Obama Supporter
The GOP will get trounced in 2012 if they do not make Obama Eligibility a leading issue
“What is scary is that 35% of republicans would vote for Obama over Trump?”
It doesn’t say that. They make you assume it. They could have chosen “someone else” or “undecided”. Sneaky.
I was just thinking that what this race needs is a Forbes-400-level rich guy to get in the race, win the nomination and get buried in a 15-point landslide. Mm-mm!
Agreed!
Trump would split the GOP/conservative vote, and re-elect Obama. (Which is likely their plan, a la Perot.)
Anyone who calls Trump a “joke” should also use a similar (or worse) term when describing the current POTUS.
That’s not fair..you posted a lousy pic of Melania...
THIS is why I am leery of Donald Trumps recent rise to popularity...they want him as our candidate, not Sarah, not Michele, not Jim DeMint, not Colonel West. No, they want to choose the candidate and they want that person to be Democrat-lite.
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts (Birth Certificate talk)... and the Trojan horses they ride in on.
Obama Eligibility is a main issue.....the GOP will have a 50 state slaughter if they ignore the issue
The Obama Supporters trashing Trump are only helping Obama. Obama would surely love to run against a Romney or Gingrich and not have to face the Eligibility questions.
The Obama Supporters have been in a total tizzy since Trump has gained in the polls. The fact is that real conservatives want that Obama Long Form BC released....and reality is that the Obama Supporters cannot run from the issue anymore
I agree. These are not bad numbers at all for Trump. They are awful numbers for an incumbent president matched against a reality TV star who says what he thinks and shoots from the hip.
What is scary is that 35% of republicans would vote for Obama over Trump?
wow
No one seemed to mind that both Bushes and John McCain had ties to George Soros...and with McCain....he actually took campaign donations from Soros.
If those are the choices, I will welcome the Mayan version of 2012.
