You must mean Huckleberry.
You are correct in that if Trump runs as 3rd party we are screwed. So far he has not said that. But I was never good at reading other people’s minds. So I will go by what I heard him say so far, which is that if he decides to run, it will be on a republican ticket.

I’m guessing that you did not, then, see this article and thread earlier today.

Well it is actually a GOP problem. I would say the reason Trump is out there is because the GOP is even more wishy washy than Trump. For crying out loud, don’t blame a guy for just filling a vacuum. The country club dominated GOP richly deserves 4 more years of Zero if they can’t dig themselves out of this sandtrap.
No, I had not seen that! Have been busy painting the house!!
“Donald Trump will probably run as an independent candidate for U.S. President in 2012 if he does not receive the Republican partys nomination, he told the Wall Street Journal in a video interview on Monday.”
Above statement clearly states that he is running for nomination as GOP candidate. But if he does not win GOP nomination, why would any one blame him for making an independent run? He feels strongly enough about the country that he may not want to sit on the sidelines and see the country go down the drain.
After all Trump owes GOP nothing. He has not received one dime from RNC or any other GOP money. That is exactly why I prefer Trump over the others who are all professional politicians, with tons of money received from various interest groups ALREADY and will beg for more.

Transcript from Rush Limbaugh:
RUSH: "Okay, gonna try to get Trump on one day this week. We should be able to do that. Actually, you know, I think Trump might actually be the real illegal alien here. I mean, you say what you will, but he is once again actually doing a job that most Americans wouldn't touch. He fits the bill in that regard."
