I agree, however the Fedgov has become so large, so encompassing and controlling, the states have become like government corporate satellites, with the home office being in D.C. Complete with threats and bribes.
Regarding the human history part...Absolutely!
BTW, this interview of Brown, is now currently being covered *at length* by LA radio stations.
To be honest, even I was surprised Brown stated this:
"We are at a point of civil discord, and I would not minimize the risk to our country and to our state."
I remember that commercial. It was appalling, and turned off a lot of people. There are some who say that commercial cost him the election.
Of course, LBJ did something similar in 1964 with the classless “Daisy” commercial. But he won. In a landslide.
A prime example of a bald haired hippy.
By the way, what has that very dated commercial to do with Brown making comments such as this below?
We are at a point of civil discord, and I would not minimize the risk to our country and to our state.
“California could be led into a civil war, Americans fighting to retake their state from the Mexican invasion. The problem is that obama would support the mexican nationals.”
All true.
Bush did the same, why would Obama be any different?
Why do you think our troops are in 3 wars now. Huge waste of money and lives. Protecting the scummy Saudis. Eff Em.
“Bush did the same, why would Obama be any different?”
On the illegal immigration question, who said he was?
I guess it needed to be said, as the glaring hypocrisy in some venues is stunning.
I don’t think people in this country are anywhere near fired-up enough for that to happen. They can’t even muster up anger at near-$4 - per gallon gasoline.
So long as there are American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, X-Box, food and beer, the sheeple as a whole will be content enough to meekly accept whatever fate awaits them.
Someone - a governor, most likely, or someone who wants to be President but who doesn't want to "run" - must declare that the emperor has no clothes.
Then, events may take a surprising course.
I wish I shared your optimism that enough people in CA would try to take their state back. With 7 million illegals bedding down each night there, along with however millions more "legals" and libs who support them, it's hard to imagine anyone making such a move.
Can I be honest?
Even here on a conservative site threads regarding "American Idol" go into the thousands, with thread I, II, II etc..
Those who mindlessly follow such cow flop, are likely on the government payroll, very comfortable, shut-ins, or are simply drooling in cups.
That being said, don't be so sure...With tens of millions jobless, millions losing their homes, businesses, investments etc, prices of everything skyrocketing, forced to pay for millions of illegals, standard of living nose diving, massive government corruption etc.....This is no longer simply a bump in the road, or business as usual.
At the rate were going, steady decline.....One can imagine what just another year or two could possibly bring.
Would?
He already did - sued AZ to stop enforcement of SB1070.
“Huge waste of money and lives”
True that. What is our purpose now in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya? And how many other areas are our troops in after the supposed end of a war? Bosnia comes to mind and that whole region.
California has a line-item veto, so Brown is free to cut as much as he wishes from the budget. Unfortunately, all he wishes to do is raise taxes. (Or perhaps more accurately, re-fight the battle over Prop. 13!)
And in so-called conservative states, at major hospitals such as Parkland hospital in Dallas Texas, they are churning out nearly 1000 anchor babies per month...At just one single hospital, while millions of illegals are collecting tax paid welfare benefits.
Those aiding and abetting this seem to be everywhere. No?
