It would be good to recognize the most determined warriors for truth, Charles Kerchner, Mario Apuzzo, Leo Donofrio, and yes, Orly Taitz. Taitz, perhaps not so sophisticated in her legal reasoning, exposed the Berg subterfuge, explaining what we are now discussing, two and a half years later, that Kenyan birth, while if proven, would further clarify Obama’s ineligibility, his British father was sufficient proof that he was not eligible, not a natural born Citizen. She knew the meaning of natural born Citizenship (see her Dec 2008 press conference in Wash. D.C. with Berg). Taitz, seeing the futility of seeking redress in a politicized judiciary, ran for Secretary of State, to be confronted by a fraudulent opponent who was protected by the current Sec of State. Taitz exposed the value of Soros' Secretary of State Project. Dr. Lakin, while he appeared not to grasp, or didn't speak of, Obama’s alien birth - born a British Subject - he put everything on the line as true warriors do. He exposed the corruption of the military officers corp.
The more we can make the legal certainty of natural born Citizenship violation clear to the public, the sooner we can force resolution. Obama never cared, and must have another path plotted for his future. He may be counting on the total dissolution of our Constitution, and may have a another country of residence established. But remember, Obama never told us he was a natural born Citizen. He told us he was a Title 8 Citizen, "A native born citizen of the U.S.", which is probably true. He has been permitted to stay in office by a corrupt legislature and judiciary - a very sophisticated operation. While others see the impending destruction of our economy as the primary concern, I believe we can rebuild the economy, but only if our society honors and defends the Constitution.
I am in awe of the wonderful work which is being done here on our Constitution's and our country's behalf.
The voting public of today and especially the next generation of voters tomorrow need to be made aware--finally, it is not too late I pray--of what is taking place.

No Vendome (one of my favorite fountain pens was called “Vendome”), I wrote what I thought I meant, but that doesn't mean I knew what I was saying! Here is where I got it. The use of the term, as with many terms, may have changed over time. That, after all, is why Morrison Waite reminded readers of Minor v. Happersett, that the definition of “natural born Citizen” was "from the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar." I stole the word and phrase from Vattel, Book 1, Paragraph 217:
“For the same reasons also, children born out of the country in the armies of the state, or in the house of its minister at a foreign court are reputed born in the country:”
This phrase has, of course, held the interest of many of us who know that Obama is not a natural born citizen, but wonder why no court or constitutional amendment has chosen to add this of Vattel’s principles, which would have made McCain a natural born Citizen, and obviated this mess? Surely McCain would have denounced Obama as ineligible because of his alien birth/alien father if he were not also ineligible!
I interpreted “reputed” as meaning “assumed to be.” But my Latin scholars are off tonight at a Latin convention. Reading through Vattel’s sections 215-217 it appears that his reputed citizens are not called “natural born Citizens,” or the “natives” or “indigines” of the original French editions. That is an issue our Supreme Court should have addressed, but has sadly evaded.
There are some consequences associated with including foreign born children of military citizens because the child may then have been raised in and incurred some allegiance to the country of his/her birth. Our framers could not put the nation at risk by creating an exception to an otherwise clear and ancient requirement. But we should perhaps look again at the wisdom of amending Article II Section 1.
Still, I appreciated your question. Free Republic is demonstrating more critical thinking than American Thinker. I just copied Vattel. I didn't appreciate the linguistic implications of the word, and am anything but a linguist or expert in English grammar. Should Vattel’s translator, Thomas Nugent, have used “imputed?”
Please do be critical. Free Republic, even including the Obots James and Mr. Rogers, has provided a forum from which I have begun to really understand the problems our founders faced, how and why they chose certain solutions. I'm also beginning to learn how to write. If I misuse terms I much prefer to know about it. Goodness knows I've misused equations on more than one equation, and mathematics is just another language.

Parsing this statement, I note the careful lawyerly reluctance to explicitly state that Obama II, like his father, was also a British subject at birth. The statement only says that the 1948 BNA “governed the status” of his father’s children in general. IOW, the statement invites the reader to conclude that Obama II was a dual citizen British subject at birth, but does not say so.
If the 1948 BNA “governs the status” of Obama Sr.’s children, then any exclusions in that act must be considered. The 1948 BNA says that the act does NOT apply to illegitimate children:
“(2) Subject to the provisions of section twenty-three of this Act, any reference in this Act to a child shall be construed as a reference to a legitimate child; and the expressions “father”, “ancestor” and “descended” shall be construed accordingly.”

My understanding is that a bigamous marriage is a nullity and the children of a bigamous marriage are illegitimate under the UK Legitimacy Act of 1926. Obama II has recognized his stepmother, Kezia, and her children as family and wrote in “Dreams” of his father’s shortcomings and doubts about the marital status of his parents.
In a Daily Mail story about Kezia, presumably based on information provided by her, BHO Sr is described as a “bigamist” and the presumably legal Kenyan tribal marriage between Obama Sr. and Kezia is described in some detail:
In applying the 1948 BNA to determine whether a marriage is bigamous, it seems that UK authorities would look to the 1902 Kenya Marriage Act (KMA). From what I have found so far (not a lawyer) the 1902 KMA appears to have still been in effect in 1961 in Kenya Colony.
Under the 1902 KMA, tribal marriages are legal and subsequent marriages are bigamous, including even marriages following Muslim marriage:
37. Marriages under native law or custom.
“Any person who is married under this Act, or whose marriage is declared by this Act to be valid, shall be incapable during the continuance of such marriage of contracting a valid marriage under any native law or custom, but, save as aforesaid, nothing in this Act contained shall affect the validity of any marriage contracted under or in accordance with any native law or custom, or in any manner apply to marriages so contracted.”

I do not believe it is clearcut that Obama was an ineligible UK subject and dual citizen at birth because that depends on whether his parents marriage was bigamous, which it appears to be.

Donald did not get where he is by being stupid. And he is tough. He found a talking point that a lot of people believe but were afraid to say because of ridicule. This is a two fold winner for him. #1 instant recognition. #2 it gets the issue out in the open with his name in front of it. It is readily apparent that he can handle the libs who try to trash him on this point. And . . AND if it comes to fruition he would be America’s hero.
