Also, Japan is ready for a 6.5 earthquake. Any structure that survived the 9.0 will likely not be damaged by the 6.5. Not sure why you're belaboring the point, but the fact is a 6.5 is a major quake, it will bring down buildings that were otherwise compromised from the original event.....not to mention the mental impact on an already shaken peoples.
I've experienced them on at least three occasions, lost a house and experienced the aftermath...I know.
