Does Congress at least have some say in this?
Orders from the UN absent congressional support. The rotten smell of BO is abrogating US sovereignty.
Even more significantly Obama's world view requires victims to be serviced, and not winners to be supported. As long as the Libyan rebels had a chance to prevail, they were of little value to a messianic narcissist... Pitiful, battered, pleading Libyans huddled around Benghazi are the prerequisite for making this this intervention work politically. In just the same way Obama and Pelosi needed the image of sick, desperate, hard up Americans to make the case for ObamaCare, the Stimuli, and financial services "reform." [..] War without victory, intervention that produces dependency, Americans shouldering the burdens but obscured in a fog of UN acronyms, a maze of rules of engagement and process that squeezes every last bit of spirit and motivation out of warriors, it may not be a strategy, but it sure as hell explains the motivation.
The president can send troops and start shooting pretty much anywhere he/she wants. In this case, I couldn’t care less if His Uselessness got “authorization” from the local gardening club: taking out the libyan psychopath is a good idea.
Plus, it would seem to be constitutional. Or what passes for constitutional these days. His Uselessness is in compliance with the war powers act. He has about 8 days left to officially notify congress and about 58 days to wage a battle w/o getting congress to OK it. Enough “bunker busters” and this will be over long before that.
An excellent capitulation of both ends of the Obama horror that Americans have endured since lemmings put this inept Socialist into the Presidency. And just who gave the UN power to over-ride our Constitution, Congress and our public? What a perfect description of a liberal university prof running the nation.....into the ground.
Like Vietnam?
We didn’t attack North Vietnam, we defended South Vietnam. A bit different.
